Zdenek Kutlak, who spent last 4 seasons trying to make Bostons roster just signed 1 year deal with Karlovy Vary and will play Czech Extraleague next season. Welcome back, I guess. It is good that these players return where they came from and do not try to make AHL carrer. He is only 24 so he has still chance to improve himslef and maybe fight for a spot in the national team next year.
This year, he played AHL so any references, anyone has seen him?

I thought Kutlak would give it one more year, since he always seemed 'on the bubble' the make a roster spot. Milo Jurcina's development, however, spelled the end of Kutlak's real chances.

Kutlak gave solid, but not spectacular play, but I didn't get to see him as much as I'd like...he'll need to play well in front of teeny Mensator ;)...KV is still a pretty cruddy team going into next season, though.

Mensator already has an agreement with Karlovy Vary...I'm shocked you didn't know this :amazed:

Lukas didn't he'll have a good future with the Canucks farm club with Auld (unless promoted to the NHL as a backup) and McVicar ahead of him...but he can get more time and money with KV...too bad he won't replace the amazing Franek...but few can.

I did not see any info about it at all. :dunno:

But it is good that we will watch this talented goalie in Czech Extraleague this season.

do you now something about mensator's contract with KV?
I am sure Franek is much more expensive then Mensator, so even he will be not his full replacement, it is still pretty good deal for KV. And look at Duba...!

I don't know the specifics of his contract, other than he's agreed to come back to Karlovy Vary for next season. If things don't work out well with the Vancouver orginzation, or there is a lockout by the NHL owners, Mensi will be back for sure. With Auld likely to be on the pro roster, McVicar would be the #1 for the AHL Moose, and Mensi may not want to be his backup or stuck in the ECHL...

And as much of a prospect as Lukas is, he won't replace Franek very well, not for a few years (Duba needed a few years to develop)...not many goalies can. Franek carried KV last year, and they will fight not to be relegated...

Contradiction here, Jes. So he's only going back for sure if there's a lockout or things don't work out with the Canucks? I haven't seen or heard this anywhere except here.

I meant back as in back home to KV.
Mensator is a lock to go back to KV unless the situation improves drastically in the Canucks organization...basically, he'd have to be guaranteed an AHL starting job or a big share of the games...and even then, he's heavily favouring returning home.

He's already listed on his teams website and the czech sites have all recorded the transaction.

Yes, he is on the roster. Have you got any link about his comeback?

Sorry, but I can't find any official link for you.

I trust the source that I got the information from, and I'd fully expect Mensator to be the stopper for KV...right now, they don't seem to have any other goalies under contract.

They do have one another goalie under contract and are actually looking for number 1 goalie for the next season. You were right, Mensator really signed a deal with Vary.
