According to Sport-Express, Hasek has already started training for the next season and will arrive shortly in Moscow to sign a contract.

Wow, its awesome that Hasek can still play at such a high level of hockey. I heard about this signing on the news today and thought they were just talking crap. Good to hear that he really did sign.

not so fast - Vishnevskiy played there almost all of the season, Voronov had his chances - couple more young kids.

on the other hand - Ak Bars - who has a few good prospects doesn't give them a sniff - Petrov being the best of them

At least Ak-Bars has some excuses, they are back to back champions, and their goalie is top notch better than most NHL goalies...
Ak-Bars just needs to learn how to delegate prospects. For example they could have loaned Petrov to Neftekhimik for the year where he could have played KHL all year... Same way Filatov, Tikhonov, Weinhandl... are on loan

As for Spartak, I think signing 45 year old legioners is just unacceptable

There is an excuse that Hašek feels younger than he actually is:sarcasm:

If the youngsters are not better than a 45-y.o. than they don't deserve to be prefered. It's not like Hasek had it easy in the NHL. The youngsters should fight for the post, don't just hand it to them.

The point is that even though the old man is better than them now, there is no long term prospective whereas youngsters can get better and be signed longer and will benefit the club for longer.

But lets see how this plays out

First of all, there is certainly no guarantiee they'll get better or as good as necessary to win anything. You may end up developing a goalie for 5 years and having mediocre results in the meantime only to realize you will need something more to success.

Secondly, Hasek will not play all games, not even close and the youngsters will benefit from him being there. If they can't take one year of having less ice time to learn from the best, than there is something wrong with them.

In the third place, IT'S THE SAME FOR ALL. The old man used to be young too and had to fight his way up as well.

Finally, you surelly need some youngsters, but you also need results, otherwise you won't be able to keep your good players, much like Arsenal in soccer (they have so many perspective players, but they never deliver and want to leave the club when they become real assets, like Fabregas)

True. I will have to agree with you. Im not exactly aware of Spartak's goalie/prospects situation, and an experienced goalie that is used to winning things would probably have helped Spartak with their already amazing playoff feat.

I was just against the notion as a whole. I am a supporter of the KHL and of Russia hockey, and know that the league is aging and the young talent has alot less depth than before. Therefore I'm just concerned when these sort of things happen.

I hope it's an upgrade over departed Moss...So you have Danis and Ling, Shirokov, Tispulis...any more foreigners coming? Why did you wave Pratt?

Don 't see what this has to do with Hašek going to Spartak but if true, guess that leave D.R. down to just 1 goalie, Alexander Salák.

does Riga not see Holt as their #1 and Lusinsh as his backup?

I believe Lūsiņš will end up getting contract with D.R. but I would not trust him as back-up. I would not mind bringing in Salák to push Holt a little, would really prefer him over Lūsiņš.

At end of the day, I believe you will be right, Holt starts, Lūsiņš back-up.

i don't know the reason ,that Pratt left Amur. Maybe i'll know about it later. Also some player should come from Usa or Canada to replace Pratt.
Moss has an injury, and he will be ok only in november((And so Amur has decided not to wait and Danis is going to Amur.
but it's not confirmed

Mosserat, I know that is impossible to know exactly the wages of KHL players, but can give me an estimate wage numbers of your foreigners - A. Širokovs and Cipulis? Because to my mind they clearly are no better players than you had already. Could they really earn more or less the same as your best Russian players?

i think,Shirokov's salary wasn't so high last season, but now he has got a new contract, and i think the salary has become bigger, because he showed a good game last season, and he is a leader in Amur.He always plays in PP,PK.
Concerning Shipulis i really don't know. But i don't know why our coach wants to see him in Amur. We could invite player from US ,who plays in AHL/NHL. Shirokov hasn't the same situation as Shipulis, because he has already played in Amur in 2004-2005 and coach Blinov knows him very well.
so i think Shirokov is one of the five best players in Amur. and now he has a good salary, maybe as David Ling.
But i don't know exactly man:shakehead

I knew about him wanted to play and sign abo0ut a month ago. he even said that he want to make a come back to the nhl next year. Just imagine that, Hasek in the nhl in 2011-2012 for Detroit. I would love it since I m a big Detroit fan and Hasek.
