Melrose Munch 06-21-2010, 01:51 PM The 6'5", 290 pound behemoth was out in Hollywood this weekend -- where he told our camera guy about the move ... and hinted that he already has his first fight lined up.

Maxpac 06-21-2010, 01:56 PM No way!
Will he even pass the blood tests?
Killahpunk 06-21-2010, 02:16 PM He's had too many injuries.
Maxpac 06-21-2010, 02:40 PM He's had too many injuries.
As retarded as it sounds, MMA is A LOT safer then WWE wrestling. He's had no concussion to my knowledge though, so once he's healed up he should be ready in no time.

Barf.
It would be nice if there could be some form of testing/biopsy done to determine whether an athlete's frame was founded on banned substances, regardless of whether or not they still exist in the fighter's bloodstream. It's getting ridiculous, with guys like Lesnar, Lashley, Sapp, Randleman, Shamrock, Mir, Sherk, St. Pierre (haha), etc.

What?
Ensane 06-21-2010, 06:04 PM What?
I think he's referring to the fact that Frank Mir was astoundingly able to put on 20 lbs or more of muscle in 4 months, while getting more cut in the process.
Isn't the guy in his 40's?
What?
Right, forgot Baroni. :P
Doc Scurlock 06-21-2010, 07:04 PM Isn't the guy in his 40's?
Yeah, I don't think is one of those serious type deals. It's more of a freakshow where he'll have a couple of fights, make his money, and then piss off and do something else.

Nalyd Psycho 06-22-2010, 02:36 PM Didn't he get his ass kicked by Booker T?
Hawkey36 06-22-2010, 03:37 PM What a joke. Being big and strong doesnt mean you will be a good MMA fighter. Case in point: Kimbo Slice.

I get all my MMA news at TMZ :sarcasm:

Thought the "(haha)" after his name would make it clear I was kidding, and just trying to get a rise out of you guys. I don't think it would be entirely shocking if it proved to be true, though. Dissapointing? Yes, totally. Surprising? Not really.
Fighting Saint 06-23-2010, 02:13 PM I don't think this will turn out too well for him. The guy was so roided up in the WWE that he couldn't even move properly, thus making him very injury prone. Not to mention he's getting up there in age.
That said, I'll be watching if he fights.
Captain_Cunney 06-23-2010, 02:22 PM I hope this is a sign of things to come.
I'd really like to see Jimmy "Superfly" Snukka in the UFC. The Supefly Smash could be very effective in MMA (are you allowed to climb the cage?).

Dennis Hallman was on Inside MMA two weeks back, when Shamrock's "admission" came out. He specifically said that he thinks a low estimate is 50%, for guys using some for of steroids. He clarified that it was less as a PED, and more as a recovery agent--which makes sense considering how extreme these guys train for 16 weeks at a clip. Hallman, for the record, was caught for using.

I'm still holding out for Tito Santana. That flying forearm is a muay thai practitioner's wet dream!

I just burst out laughing at my desk, needless to say I got some strange looks. Well worth it. :handclap:
Hellfish 06-23-2010, 03:43 PM They need to do a TUF season with these celebs and different sport athletes who want a go at MMA. I'd watch the side show that would be Shaq and Canseco duking it out on Spike.
Boris Le Tigre 06-23-2010, 04:48 PM I wonder what the angle is there.
Is this to do with legitimacy as an athlete or is mma a place where pro-wrestlers go to retire.
Although that seems like a crazy thought, mma guys don't need to tour so much, fake fight, and hurt themselves for the cinema of it all.

I don't think anyone would (or at least should) be surprised if that proved to be true. It's out there. Same goes for hockey. A lot of people on these boards may want to think otherwise, but it's there.
