Ensane 07-07-2010, 03:04 PM Matt Hughes again.
Should we do run-offs if no one gets a majority?
DeathFromAbove 07-07-2010, 03:07 PM I say we just keep it simple and have the guy who gets the most votes to win the poll, but i'm open for anything.
I think it's going to be really hard to get a majority especially as we get down later in the rankings.
It's gotta be either Bas Rutten or Kazushi Sakuraba, IMO.
Matt Hughes again.

I still take BJ Penn above Matt Hughes, and think his record is inflated by his numerous appearances with "Extreme Challenge", etc. He did successfully defend his title 5 consecutive times after "winning" against Carlos Newton, but Sakurai and Sherk were lightweights, and Trigg's status as a contender was questionable. Castillo went 2-3 after his title shot, against non-UFC fighters. Liddell and Hughes are two UFC glory boys that I view as overrated in the MMA world.

I'm no big fan of Liddell, but hes the #1 or #2 Light Heavyweight in the young history of the sport. The only guys who you could put above him are Shogun and Wanderlei in my opinion.
2 wins over Couture, 2 wins over Ortiz, Overeem, Belfort, 2 over Babalu, Wanderlei, Randleman...almost all by knockout as far as I remember.

Chuck's resume notwithstanding, I think you could make a strong case for Randy and Rampage being ahead of him as a LHW as well.

Plus, I consider Rutten a LHW (and arguably Fedor too :P).

JLHockeyKnight 07-07-2010, 08:35 PM Matt Hughes again.

I think so, I'll see if others agree.
I voted for Rowdy Randy.
DeathFromAbove, when are you closing the polls? Daily? I would consider putting a limit on them when you go to create them.

I just open the next poll when all the regulars around here cast their votes, and there's a clear winner.
End of Line 07-08-2010, 10:54 PM Matt Hughes.

This poll is tight, we need everyone to vote!

Haha, or Hackney. Howard gets my Canadian vote though.

But yes, you're right. Everyone needs to vote. Unless you plan to vote for Matt Hughes, then go back to bed, and come back when the thread "Who's the greatest fighter in MMA #7" is created. :P
Jasper 07-09-2010, 04:16 PM I'd vote but I'm confused after the first poll. If I didn't vote for Fedor, should I vote for my guy again in #2...and #3?

Yes, I think that would be the best way to go about it. Best available.
DaaaaB's 07-09-2010, 05:09 PM We might need to do run-off polls with such close polls and little voter turnout. Take the top 2 guys unless the leader is 4-5 votes ahead. Just a suggestion.
BTW, I voted for Wandy.
For guys to add, off the top of my head I'd say one of Miletich, Ruas, Barnett or Rizzo.
AndyPipkin 07-09-2010, 05:10 PM I'll keep voting for Rickson till he gets up there:laugh:

Vote for the guy who you think is the best on the list.
