With Malkin and Ovechkin gone, who do you see Chicago taking? (assuming they don't trade)

They should take Olesz.

Olesz, Ladd, or Tukonen.

Olesz because until recently was a definitive #3, maybe he can regain that.

Ladd because he is a rare high scoring power forward.

Tukonen because he's a decent two way forward, but I like that he's so much younger than everyone. If he's this good now, maybe when he catches up he will justify the #3.

I'd go with Barker.

How is taking the highest ranked defenseman a bad thing? He has all the tools to be a legitimate #1 defenseman. He's put up good offensive numbers in Junior and he is big enough to be a physical force. The only real complaint I have heard about his game is that he sucks in his own end. What 18 year old prospect doesn't need to improve his defensive play? Let's anchor the future with Babchuk, Seabrook, and Barker.

But...I'd be plenty happy if they took Olesz or Tukonen. I'd be pissed if they choose Ladd. Considering I have not seen one of these guys play, what do I know? :dunno:

I see them taking Barker with the 3rd overall pick.

Im sure Ladd's a pretty good player to have risen up a lot of rankings in a short time, but id prefer the Hawks take a safe pick and go with one of Barker, Tukonen, or Olesz, instead of taking a flyer on Ladd.

I don't have a lot of faith in the Blackhawsk draft committee so reaching for an unknown at #3, based on a late season rise. Will set us back even further.

Like I've said for months, Rostislav Olesz.
