BostonBob 11-10-2010, 01:25 AM William Regal announced to the crowd at Monday's Raw live event in London, England that the ongoing British tour would be his last because he is retiring soon.
Having started his career wrestling on the carnival circuit in England at the age of 15, he competed across the globe before joining World Championship Wrestling in 1993. After parting ways with the organization in 2000, he joined World Wrestling Entertainment, where he became commissioner. He has been with the company since then.
Throughout his 27-year career, Regal has won more than 60 titles worldwide, including 15 in WWE and 4 in WCW. He recently signed a 42 month contract renewal with WWE, which puts him under contract until 2014.

Actually it's a "semi" spoiler. He hasn't announced it on TV yet and he only announced this to the live crowd in the UK because its home.

Maybe if the ECW title was still around. That was a nice "thank you" type thing they gave to Kane (before his push), Matt Hardy, and Chavo Guerrero.
I'd be fine if he got a short Tag Team Title, United States Championship, King of the Ring win (coming up, defending champion), or won some type of "European Cup" tournament.

Yes he's under contract until 2014 but there is no way that he'll be wrestling that long. He will likely work as a trainer or road agent once he retires from wrestling.

Those videos make me appreciate Regal even more. It's a shame the Regal/Punk series of IC title matches wasn't developed into an actual storyline.
Although I do remember those two winning a match against Christian and Truth and celebrating as if they won the tag titles. :laugh:

That was so damn funny, as were most of his skits around that time. Not so much the idea behind the skit but Regal's facial expressions. They were classic. I was so glad when he was one of those who came over from WCW, I'd always liked him.

Always been a big fan of Regal ever since he started in WCW. It would be sad if he did leave. Michaels..Jericho...Regal. There's not many of the pre-"WWE Universe" guys left.

That was just Regal showing that:
1. He wasn't going to just roll over for anybody.
2. He's forgotten more about wrestling than Goldberg -- or Bischoff -- will ever know.
That could have been a great match if Goldberg knew how to work. When all you can do is squash guys in 60 seconds or less, a technical master like Regal can make you look like crap... which is exactly what he did.
