I was thinking the same, but they've done it in a strange way by jobbing to Kingston twice and then sneaking through the backdoor into the title match with only an announcement in passing by Michael Cole on Raw (although it was obvious it was going to happen). I suppose that they didn't want a heel vs heel match for the belt, but Kingston has been booked really strong since the lead up to Survivor Series, and he's insanely over right now, and its his match. Just screams title change for me. I can see them maybe having Swagger take the belt from Kingston down the road though, perhaps at the Rumble if neither of them are in it.

Not always, Rumble has had some very high profile title matches in the past. Rock/Mankind, HKB/Undertaker Casket Match and HBK/Sid come to mind. I don't think Rey is even that hurt. It took Benoit a long time to get into the title picture though. It took him years and years of simply performing in a national promotion at a high level to get as over as he was. Bryan is not as over as Benoit was, but he could one day, but it will take more than a few months to do so unless he really develops a strong personality.

Agree completely I've always looked at him as the next Benoit. No flash just goes out to the ring and puts on a clinic, fans love the smaller guy who takes on anybody at anytime. I just hope he doesn't become like Mysterio...

So the Nexus thing has gone stale at this point. I have a bad feeling Cena wins clean over Wade, or even worse, Wade attempts to cheat and still loses. The only good that would come from that, is you know Wade would then get revenge with a big win or elimination over Cena.

This ppv should be spot, after spot. Hopefully the high flyers do not disappoint. Probably looking forward to Morrison v Sheamus the most. They had a great match a couple weeks ago, this should only be better.

Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber (and Survivor Series to a lesser extent) are essentially gimmick PPVs as well, and no one really complains about them.

TLC and HIAC are ridiculous, but normal gimmick PPVs are fine.

TLC is saved by the fact that TLC and its sub types almost always produce great matches. HIAC is ridiculous as is fatal 4 way and extreme rules. I would much prefer actual ppv titles with a surprise TLC match thrown in for fun.

The most ridiculous part is it undermines a lot of the run up. When Edge beat Kane to pick the match type did anybody actusly cross their fingers and go "I hope its TLC, I hope its TLC, I hope its TLC" and then go "ZOMG HE PICKED TLC!!!!!!" Everybody knew he would pick TLC, and even worse, everyone knew he would win and get to pick TLC.

Gimmick PPVs really take away from the overall feud. I loved when a fued would go 3 or 4 matches at PPVs and maybe one on raw yet still be unfinished so there has to be a gimmick finale that steals the show.

Case and point is Punk vs. Hardy at SummerSlam. That was a great feud and ended perfectly.

A chairs match? Tables match? Who gives a ****? I would rather there just be 1 TLC match and it goes to the best fued going at the time. The whole entire PPV doesn't have to be a cluster**** gimmick.

I don't even mind the gimmicks all that much, It just pisses me off when they use stupid things like a CHAIRS MATCH, golly gee i wonder what will happen in this match?...Because ya know, people won't end up using chairs in any of the other matches despite it being No DQ and vise versa in the chairs match amirite? :facepalm:

Making Rey tap out in his first match is more than anything Sheamus accomplished before his first reign.

WWE is very high on Del Rio and he'll easily win a world title within the next year. And no, Mysterio didn't have the belt, but a clean victory over Rey carries a lot of weight considering he's a two-time world champion.
