Claimed Off Waivers 12-18-2010, 09:23 AM I'm not a big Orton fan, but I really marked out for this moment. Few play the psycho role better than Randy, those voices in his head were screaming. The look in his eyes had me ROTFLMAO.

this was not really a year for mark out moments...atleast for me

This.

Yep, you have to go all the way back to January for the mark out moment of the year.
Just seeing bret walk down the aisle with his music going off, and the whole shawn michaels thing. That was the highlight of the year.
BraveSirRobin 12-19-2010, 05:12 PM While Bret Hart reconciling with Shawn Michaels certainly was tops on my list, my second favorite was this.
eb73uSq45U0
No matter how many times they've feuded, I will always mark out for Paul Bearer.
Morozov 12-19-2010, 05:21 PM MCMG winning the tag titles
I thought the reconciliation was ********.
BreakTheWallsDown 12-19-2010, 05:24 PM Definitely Bryan showing up again. Other than that, basically anything Jericho does can be considered a mark-out moment for me.
Duddy 12-19-2010, 05:41 PM Robbie E winning the X Division title.

I can't help but laugh. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

The Man in White 12-19-2010, 09:17 PM Nexus debut.
LeafSadist 12-19-2010, 09:38 PM Easily the Bret/HBK promo. I waited, as did everyone else for 13 years just to see them in the same ring together again.
Robbie E winning the X Division title.
hahahahahhahahaha...it was a great moment
CaptainCrunch67 12-20-2010, 01:07 AM Definitely the Bret/HBK burying the hatchet. I don't watch as much wrestling as I used to because TNA is frankly awful, and WWE is just not as interesting. But I made a point to watch that Raw with the return of the Hitman.
I totally marked out when I heard the guitar squeal and Hart came out.
The second biggest mark moment for me was during the HBK retirement speech when the Undertaker came out, simply tipped his hat and walked backstage.
Its the simple things.
Morozov 12-20-2010, 01:29 AM Also marked out for the return of Shark Boy.
Shoalzie 12-20-2010, 10:27 AM This was the year of the faction...
Nexus (vs. the WWE)
EV2.0
Fourtune/4tune (however it's spelled)
"They"/Immortal
The WWE worked the bad guys angle the best with them letting Nexus build up crazy amounts of heat from beating up on seemingly everyone in the company, past and present. They let their ultimate face take some punishment and even make him join the Nexus only to screw over Barrett for the title twice only to backdoor him onto the roster like nothing happened. Nexus was a very effective storyline and it continues to put Cena over more...if that's even possible. Cena comes out of this probably stronger than ever before with his minions.
Cena's "rise and fall" was fairly predictable...them having Cena join the Nexus was a bit of a surprise because I figured he'd ultimately end the Nexus at some point. I think we're seeing that happen now after a few months of him in the group and helping further build up the feud between Cena and Barrett and even have a guy like Otunga try to break up the group from the internally. To WWE's credit...they aren't a slave to their faction gimmicks as much as they beat the Nexus storyline into the ground. They actually stand by their individual stars and they don't have clump them all together into these gangs and factions. They've done well in putting over some guys this year.
Prussian_Blue 12-20-2010, 05:39 PM I can't help but laugh. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Yeah, that's classic...

That's my moment of 2010, for sure. I've always been a huge Undertaker mark.

The bookers could have had two strong heel stables with the SES, had they not booked Punk weakly in several PPVs. I think they chose to let that go to the wayside so they could focus their efforts on the Nexus, which had a GREAT introduction on Raw. That was certainly one of the highlights of the year. (It also makes me wonder what would happen if they kept Bryan a part of Nexus)
Le Tricolore 12-21-2010, 01:15 AM LmiF16nE9YI
I was half asleep watching this, and "AWESOME!!!" woke me right up.
iamjs 12-21-2010, 07:50 PM mine didn't happen in the WWE, but it was wrestling related.

Never expected to see a Razor Ramon endzone celebration.
Morozov 12-21-2010, 09:39 PM I remember someone in the NFL doing Booker T's hand thing, can't remember who it was.
CaptainCrunch67 12-22-2010, 04:53 PM That's my moment of 2010, for sure. I've always been a huge Undertaker mark.
The more I think about it them more I really appreciated the whole retirement speech. This was about as perfect of a moment as you can get, as long as he doesn't come back and wrestle
dDaUQ1RlbZI
The Undertaker entrance was at about 3:25, and you could see that Shawn was touched by it.
KS0uc5Mu1f0
don't get me wrong, I was never a bit Michael's fan, but I can't take away from his last run in the WWE, and this ending.
and adding on the the HBK Bret Hart thing, moments after Shawn's last wrestlemania match backstage was a bit of a markout moment too
mERRkpYMqsA
the shawn thing just can't be a mark out moment...it was a sad day for me that one of my first memories of being a wrestling fan was he and marty jannetty as the midnight rockers in the AWA...i had pairs of glasses just like his
one of my all time favorite wrestlers/superstars/entertainers/whatevers...
CaptainCrunch67 12-23-2010, 09:35 AM To me it was a markout moment because it was a culmination of a great career in the ring. He wasn't leaving to find his smile, he didn't just vanish like so many wrestlers do. It was a capstone moment, with real emotion, and a real fan reaction, so yeah it was a markout moment.
To me in terms of wrestling in the ring, and story lines this was a year that was really devoid of holy $$$$ moments that strike you as a wrestling fan.
TNA is just terrible, even thier strategy of boosting things by bringing WWE rejects into the play didn't really strike me as mark out moments, more along the lines of "Your kidding me moments",
The WWE product has gone a little bit stale as well, there are no real impact moments, they've chosen a more conservative booking style.
When I think of Markout moments, I think back to Rick Rude appearing on Raw and Nitro on the same nights, the return of Lex Luger to WCW. The Austin Hart blowoff to their feud, Mick Foley tumbling off the cage and hearing JR scream "Good god I think he's been ripped in half!!!".
Mark out moments like Hogan joining the NWO, Andre the Giants heel turn, Shawn Michaels kicking Jennetty through the set window, anything that Jake the Snake did.
Those were markout moments, this year was devoid of them, except on an emotional level with Michaels and Hart.
Morozov 12-23-2010, 03:01 PM It's a thread about your favorite markout moments and this CaptainCrunch67 goober still manages to make two posts saying TNA is awful and terrible? There's no need to be trashing any product in this thread unless you want to be a troll.
Your year may have been devoid of holy **** moments in the ring, those who follow TNA and particularly those who watched BMI/MCMG series had many holy **** moments to see in the ring this year.
i was agreeing with his point that overall the holy **** moments this year were few and far between on both brands...now, the MCMG/BM matches were great, i don't know that i marked out for them
Morozov 12-23-2010, 03:37 PM I'm not saying I marked out for them, I was responding to this
"To me in terms of wrestling in the ring, and story lines this was a year that was really devoid of holy $$$$ moments that strike you as a wrestling fan."
Thus why I used the same words he did.
Heck Final Battle was pretty much a holy **** moment the whole way through.

just making sure i'm on the same page...i need to catch ROH more...my cable company dropped HDNet so don't get to watch it anymore...
Morozov 12-23-2010, 03:59 PM Yeah ROH Final Battle.
"Obtain" it now imo ;)
