VIEW THE FULL VERSION : WWE: 2011 WWE Hall Of Fame Inductees
FromTheSide 01-15-2011, 03:21 AM So far, the only known (and likely the best possible choice) is HBK and he got one hell of an ovation might i add.

Who should/Will get inducted this year?
The rock? Mary Jennety? How about the brooklyn brawler? :sarcasm:
F0rsbergFan21 01-15-2011, 11:00 AM doink the clown?
too soon for the rock plus i doubt they'd waste doing hbk and the rock on the same year and miss that ratings pull they can get by sending them in different years
Jaysfanatic* 01-15-2011, 02:11 PM Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk.
Zodiac 01-15-2011, 03:43 PM so is Shawn Michaels actually retiring? man that sucks.
he's still got some left in the tank i think. he's not that old ...and he can still bring it more than most of the newer guys the WWE has, i would think.
F0rsbergFan21 01-15-2011, 04:38 PM when they made the comment "sweet chin music! oh man! did you ever think you'd see that again??"
or whatever it was, that was close to the comment i think.
i just thought to myself, yes, and in fact i don't care if he is retired, i know i'll keep seeing it at some point until he can no longer lift his leg.
after all we just have to watch the king come from the announce table and drop his 2nd rope punch from hell.
ughhh.
BackGroundMusic 01-15-2011, 05:18 PM Induced, lol.
Fighting Saint 01-15-2011, 08:07 PM I'd like to see LOD, Dynamite Kid, Macho Man, and Rick Martel get inducted. (not that it really means much)
LOD would be good since its in Atlanta and their years with NWA and WCW down there
HajdukSplit 01-15-2011, 09:29 PM I'm surprised Arn Anderson isn't in the HOF yet, especially because he still works with the company, I'm sure he will get it this year
Sting could be a darkhorse, it doesn't look like he will be with TNA in 3 months and with Wrestlemania being in Atlanta maybe they will pay some tribute to WCW
Please, please Macho Man, I know I'm acting like a mark but he deserves it :D
EpochLink 01-16-2011, 02:26 AM Unless Vince has a change of heart, Macho Man in the Hall is a long shot
pelts35.com 01-16-2011, 09:41 AM LOD would be good since its in Atlanta and their years with NWA and WCW down there
Personally I think it's a bit ridiculous that they aren't in already. They were one of, if not the most, influential tag teams of all times (there would be no Sting if there was no LOD) and the first to hold all 3 major tag titles (AWA, NWA/WCW and WWF) in addition to their massive success in Japan.
Prussian_Blue 01-16-2011, 11:23 AM Sting could be a darkhorse, it doesn't look like he will be with TNA in 3 months and with Wrestlemania being in Atlanta maybe they will pay some tribute to WCW.
As I understand it, that's the whole idea behind the rumor of Sting to WWE for Wrestlemania...
F0rsbergFan21 01-16-2011, 11:38 AM Unless Vince has a change of heart, Macho Man in the Hall is a long shot
this is the one guy that, imho, vince will never let in. this is the exception to my "vince we put business first if it means enough $"
i support the above post of double A, dynonite kid, and def my fav tag team off all time LOD. these are all guys that were favs of mine growing up. i'd love to see them in the hall.
ColePens 01-16-2011, 02:08 PM LOD is a good call. Isn't Animal still working w/ the WWE as a talent scout or something? I just remember some story with him recently and I can not remember.
I don't want it to be a Hall of Very Good. I would like to see them a bit tough on who gets in.
WalterSobchak 01-16-2011, 03:32 PM I'm kinda wondering who is going to be the person to induct Michaels into the hall? I'd love to see it be Bret Hart, kinda figure it will be Triple H

What's the story with Savage? Is it because he no showed Raw to appear on Nitro, or is there more? If its the no show thing I'd have to wager Luger has no shot either, and I'd say Benoit has even less of a shot.

Benoit will never make it. This is a guy they want ZERO mention of on any programming.

How tough do you think their standards are if Koko B. Ware is allowed to be in?

He did have a sweet ass bird. :teach:

 I know. I never said they were spot on in the past. I just don't want it to get out of control. It does hold some worth at this point.
Fish on The Sand 01-17-2011, 02:49 AM Benoit will never make it. This is a guy they want ZERO mention of on any programming.
I would say he has a negative chance.

I'm still scratching my head as to how he was inducted.
EpochLink 01-17-2011, 02:39 PM Macho Man was always the business man, he never really complained about anything to my understanding and went with what the plan was. I just saw the clip from the last post, you can tell Vince was pissed and sad that he left..
If Vince is mad about how he left him high and dry to go to WCW after all these years, I think that grudge should be buried. If Vince and Bret settled there differences by now..I don't see how Vince and Savage can work it out.
At least WWE hasn't forgotten about Macho Man, they still pop him up time to time...I really think he was underrated for most of his career.

Macho Man was underrated? We can agree to disagree on that one. For a guy who had a very limited moveset (double axehandle from the top rope to the floor, basic slams/clothelines, elbow drop) he was a main eventer for the majority of his career.
Jaysfanatic* 01-18-2011, 01:29 PM I'm betting Macho Man is in the HHOF this year. Think about it? WWE All-Stars releases March 29th, 2011 and he's a new addition to the game and that's right around WM time. I bet he's inducted.

Did you see the promo for this game?!

Macho Man is pimping this game out, rocks the white beard as well.
HOF bound please!!!??

I think you are silly to question Savage based on how many moves he did. From '86-'87 I would say Macho Man was the most entertaining(and best) wrestler in the world. Certainly more than Flair, more than Steamboat, more than Tsuruta/Tenryu or Fujinami/Choshu, more than the Hulkster, more than Hansen/Brody, even more than my beloved Nick Bockwinkel.
Movesets aren't what make a good wrestler, it's how you use them. Davey Richards can use four thousand backneckdestroyer bombs in a match and he's still boring next to Jumbo Tsuruta using a backdrop and a lariat.
I also think you're crapping on Savage due to likely only seeing his WCW run or watching his WWF/CWA matches out of context. Any wrestling is boring if you don't watch the build up or you go in with a mindset that you don't want to like it.
Also with the most of his career main eventer thing, it took Savage twelve years just to get to the WWF and took him four more to get to the belt. After he lost it he was relegated to the midcard for three years where he dragged the Ultimate Warrior to a very entertaining match. Even in WCW everyone got a turn with the WCW belt, it's not like he was constantly a fixture in the main event.
Sorry to rant, I just can't handle 'Mach hate. Any other kind of hate I can handle. Flair, Hart, Misawa, Lawler and even Shawn Michaels. No 'Mach though.

We can agree to disagree about Savage being more entertaining than Flair.
Also, I grew up watching wrestling in the 80's, so I absolutely saw Savage in his heyday in the WWF. I saw the feuds with the likes of Steamboat where the Dragon carried his a** during his matches. We can also agree to disagree about him dragging the Warrior, those matches were absolute snoozefests and, to quote the late Gorilla Monsoon, neither guy knew a wristlock from a wristwatch.
That said, sorry, I just wasn't a fan of his, although I do respect that he was very good on the mic and for him to have risen to superstar status with limited in-ring skills and average build is very impressive.

I've deleted a bunch of posts, going forward if its brought up again there will be infractions.
Keep your posts on topic

Behn Wilson 01-21-2011, 06:51 PM I went to College at S.I.U. Carbondale (from 1980-985) and when I was there there one of the local network channels was from Paducka, Kentucky and they had a local wrestling conference there (forget the name).
It had Savage in his pre WWF days and he was the head honcho in the conference. He talked in the same voice/tone and would always have a snake draped around him and would be working out and always saying, "Yeaaah. Im training." And he used the term Macho Mania (WWF changed it to Macho Madness due to Hulkamania).
For a local yokel conference it turned out a lot of future big names. It had the (billed as) nearly seven foot 500 pound Crusher Broomfield, a hillbilly (in WWE he became One Man Gang/Akeem). It also had Savage's Borther Leaping Lanny, and Ronnie "Fist of Stone" Garvin. There were more that later became big names elsewhere but it was long time ago and I cant recall the others.
Morozov 01-21-2011, 06:58 PM Get with the Madness that's what you gotta do OOOOOH YEAAAAH and then SNAP into a Slim Jim OOOOOHHH YEEEEAAAAHHHHHHHHH.
KesselBuiltMyHotrod 01-21-2011, 08:02 PM From JR's blog:
A Twitter follower @JRsBBQ asked the obligatory Randy Savage questions that we get inundated with at this time of the year. There's a video of Macho Man on line with him talking about the WWE's Wrestling All Stars video game which is due to be released on March 29 but Savage going into the WWE HOF this year would surprise me. HBK is this year's headliner and even though Savage had a distinguished, HOF level career he would also be a headliner and not a supporting role player IMO. Look at it any way you choose but each year there is only one headliner at the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. The year that I was inducted in 2007 Dusty Rhodes was the headliner.
WalterSobchak 02-22-2011, 01:15 AM ...
Jim Duggan
...
ok, is the only requirement to be in the WWE Hall of Fame that you spent alot of time with the company and never stopped kissing Vince's ass?
Jaysfanatic* 02-22-2011, 01:17 AM It's the hall of mediocre now. Jim Duggan sucks.
EpochLink 02-22-2011, 01:27 AM Jim Duggan?
