Just curious what happened to him. Was it a concussion? any idea when he will be back?

I read somewhere that he is almost concussion symptoms free now. It is wise to let him sit a year and see, no point to rush him back into the lineup.

Wait til next fall and limit his games in exhibition play.

I do not agree. If he can play he should play. If he is to get another consussion I want him to have it before the end of the season so we know we have to replace him.

If we cuddle him and he has another concussion in October we will have missed the UFAs to replace him.

I want to know ASAP where we stand with this guy.

Do you have any idea how concussions work? You are basicly guarenteeing that he will get a concussion if he comes back to early and then he might never play again. Even if we "cuddle" him, he could still get a concussion anytime he is out there on the ice. Look at Marc Savard and his career. If you are that scared of him getting concussed again, than don't bother signing him, it's that simple.

We can accomplish the same thing by simply "forgetting" we have Mueller when we're making our off-season decisions regarding to who pick up. We have so many injuries anyways we basically need 9 forwards who can score, so that hopefully at any given time we have enough guys to fill out 2 scoring lines. If Mueller plays even 10 games for the Avs next year, count it as an unexpected bonus.

For this reason, I'd bring back Flash (provided he's healthy), and try to sign a 2nd line UFA forward. That would give us for our top 6:

Stazz, Dutchy, Hejduk, Stoa, Hishon, Jones, Galiardi, Flash, Mueller, UFA Forward.

Obviously there are tons of question marks there--does Hejduk retire? Are Stoa/Hishon capable of scoring in the NHL? Can Galiardi rebound from a bad year? Can Flash/Mueller stay healthy? But with 10 top-6 capable guys, hopefully you have enough "yes"s to form 2 reasonable scoring lines.

I said: If he can play, he should play.

I don't want him to be ''cleared to play'' but held back because the season is lost and meaningless.

The rest of this season is preperation for the next. That means auditions for guys like Stoa, Olver and Gaunce. It also means a testing ground for Mueller, if he is cleared to play.

I understand what you mean, but I would prefer to have more info on Mueller to improve our decision making in the offseason. Mueller and Flash are write-off as far as I'm concerned. We need to hope for the best but prepare for the worst in their cases.

Even if he could play , i dont think the Avs will make him play this year . The season is pretty much lost anyway for the Avs and they shouldnt take any chance with him .

Just imagine, suffer through this, again...and we could have another Duchene...again. Or his equivalent on defense.

I'm embracing the tank for this year. However, I can't stand another season like this. AVS will have to dig in their pockets and put $ on the table for UFAs.

30M$ in cap space is enough to turn this ship around.
