Cory Schneider/Boston College question

I've read in numerous articles and posts that the Canucks' first rounder Cory Schneider will be going to Boston College and starting this fall. I've never seen young Mr Schneider play and I don't know the strength of BC's program, in defense of a potentially stupid question. Is Schneider that good that he can go in as a freshman and be a starter or are the current gumpers not that strong?

Thanks in advance.

Im pretty sure that BC has three returning goalies, but I dont think that any of them were particularily good last year, there starter, Matti Kaltiainen, had a great record and GAA, but that can be mostly credited to the strenght of the rest of Boston College's hockey team (they were ranked first for alot of last year, until they started struggling during the end of the season), but his save percentage was only .907, which for playing on a great team, is not very good...

So, to answer your question, BC has a great program, but is in need of a good starter, and I wouldnt be surprised at all if Schneider gets the nod next year

GO CANUCKS!!!

OTOH, we saw BC make Adam Pineault play 4th line and ride the pine because he did not close the gap of the older talented kids in front of him.

Matti Kaltiainen got BC to the Froozen Four this year. I would venture to say that York won't play Schneider simply because he is unhappy about his returning guys. Schneider will be doing quite well this year if he plays close to 50% of BCs games.

Well from what I understand, he'll at the very least be battling Kaltianen for the starting job. Joe Pearce (TB prospect) will not be in the Eagles lineup this fall (this was already posted elsewhere on this board in the BC roster thread).

I don't know about starter, but he's going to play a good bit I would think, since he will be the starter in his sophomore year, as the other goales are seniors this year.
