Rock/Cena

Who thinks this match could happen? Not at this mania, obviously, although I can see Rock interfering in it.

I'm thinking more about Mania next year in the rock's hometown of Miami.

It would be a one time thing, and it would be magical.

I think they bury the hatchet by WM, nixing any match next season.

Look, I hate Cena the character, but Cena the man was right about The Rock. He was talking as a fan and saying if he loved the business so much, he should have been at live events, even if it was a taped segment. Just a quick what's up to the fans.

I think Disney had something to do with it though.

It won't be next year because Cena has to take on the Undertaker for 20-0

I would love for the Rock to be around after Mania and start wrestling but I'm not convinced that will be the case so don't want to get my hopes up. This could be one of the great feuds though, you'd have pretty much all of the "Cena sucks" crowd behind the Rock, all of the "Let's go Cena" kiddos behind Cena so you don't need any sort of heel/face line being drawn.

honestly, I think if WWE can convince rock to come back for one night only against Jon Cena, then that becomes so big that it overshadows everything... even undertaker's last hurrah.

If rock agrees to a one night stand, then you invest into that matchup heavily.

I'm sure you can find somebody else intriguing enough to lay down for taker.

One problem though is that regardless of who won the feud, you would be really upsetting a large part of your audience. The older/attitude era type fans would be absolutely livid if Cena went over the Rock, those "Cena sucks" chants would just get louder and louder. Meanwhile if Cena loses then you get stuck with all the little kiddies crying etc

and you can't really start to book either of them as a heel or face to fix this because I think no matter what you have the Rock do, the attitude era/Cena haters/older people are going to gravitate towards the Rock and the kids are going to gravitate towards Cena. So then you have to question is it worth bringing the Rock back for a short period of time to either A - lose to Cena and piss off a large vocal part of your fan base big time or B - Go over your main attraction and then just end up leaving. Sure Rocky will bring the ratings, but maybe you'd be better off either having him layeth the smacketh down on a heel while bringing the ratings and having everybody happy, or, if it was deemed time to do so, use him to turn Cena heel. I don't want to get into the whole should or should Cena not turn heel debate, but if you were going to do it, then the Rock is one of the better people to use in a feud with him to do it.

If a PPV ended with Cena going clean over the Rock, what would be louder, the cheering or the booing? Curious what people think about that.

Hogan/Rock redux maybe? I think people would boo Cena, but not kill him if he went over. It's all how the writing within the match. You have to make it work... and I just don't know if they can.

Interesting take on potential match. It's tough to say.
