Or he will be so bad defensively throughout the entire length of the contract that he will be one of the 5 most overpaid players in the league throughout.

He's good, but he's not a championship caliber point guard and certainly not worth $13 million/year.

Agreed. I have always thought that was one of the biggest problems with the Mavs. Nash can run, passs and shoot, however he cannot defend anyone. He is a good player, but definately not irreplacable.

I applaud his agent for getting him that contract. He is the one who convinced the Suns to bite, hook , line and sinker.

You don't watch the Mavs much, huh? No one on the team can defend, really. The exceptions were the two guards, Nash and Finley. Howard also showed good d skills, but that's about it.

For the Mavs, he's not irreplacable, but it'll be hard. Daniels is gonna be a starter, unless a trade happens, and he's definetely going to have to step it up. The acquisition of Stackhouse might also look alot better now that Nash is gone, though it won't if he or Finley can't play point(I think Finley can, but not sure on Stackhouse).

I watch them about 10 times a year plus the playoffs. And I stick by my assertion that Nash can't play defense. To win in this league, you can get by with some shoddy defensive work up front, but it all starts with the PG. And in my opinion, Nash can't guard any of the top guards in the West. The Mavs are better without him at that salary.
