Probably the latter, Kane and/or Show to fill in the picture somewhere until they figure the younger guys are ready. But even then, wow, Christian's definitely the top face on Smackdown! now, and I could see him finally get the strap, partially as a tribute, partially because ADR might not be quite ready yet. Either way, if Christian replaces Edge at Extreme Rules, I'll definitely be tuning in.

I get what they did with Truth. Put him in the match and have him eliminate Dolph and JMo to get cred, then get entered in the match so he can be pinned and the other loser doesn't look weak. I would've guessed it's so Cena wins and Miz doesn't look weak, but the reverse makes a ton of sense as well. Keep the belt on Miz but Cena still looks strong.

I would love to see Barrett get a push but he needs to drop this nWo group heel garbage and start getting some wins in singles. If he could get clean wins over guys like Mysterio and Kane for a few weeks in a row then he could make a strong case.

In the meantime it'll probably just be Christian/Del Rio at extreme rules, probably with Christian getting the belt as fan service and a tribute to his BFF. Del Rio can win it at Summer Slam.

Well.... as of this moment Christian is the #1 babyface on Smackdown, so that is something to keep an eye on cause I know you're a peep.

Don't get me wrong, Mysterio/Kingston are obviously more over, but Christian is the top face in the top program on that show.

Granted Christian will just lose to Del Rio in the ladder match if he's placed in it, but maybe we get some promo's out of him now.

By the looks of it, they've cancelled or pushed back the draft(was scheduled for next Monday before, but lack of promotion makes me think that's not happening), and making trades really doesn't help. I guess they seem to switch guys at will, but how do you legitimately do that for guys in the main event picture? Ziggler, ok, but you can only do that so many times. Really want to see how this one turns out.

Who the hell writes this stuff? Do people not know how to book wrestlers and make them look strong? Do we really just throw 'em in title matches and hope the crowd loves 'em? What ever happend to building a ****ing PPV, a match, or even a wrestler for crying out loud.

It boggles my mind our amateur the writing can really be. These guys get paid for the dumbest crap ever. The sad thing is... we all want wrestling to be good. We are just dying to come back to enjoying the WWE. Yet they turn around and completely piss on the fans intelligence.

Just about everyone who regularly posts here has at least taken a hiatus in the last 5 years. I was a huge fan growing up.. started as a child in 93 watching and used to check the results online each week when I played junior hockey in the mid 2000s.

We all want it to be good. We all hope it's great when we come back to it. They show signs of promise and let us down year after year. It's sad. We are all devoted fans of wrestling. The sport of wrestling. Heck, you can't even say that sentence anymore because Vince wants superstars and entertainment in the WWE Universe.

Most of us will get angry and leave again.... only to come back and see if things have changed because we love the wrestling world that much.

I wonder, and this is pure speculation, whether the plan was to put someone else in the main event, but with Edge's injury, they're going to have to move a big name to Smackdown instead! (ie they wanted Seamus or Morrison in there - presumably because they already had plans for Orton), but plans changed and they randomly through Truth in.

I believe Jericho's band Fozzy has an Europe tour set up for this summer, so we won't be seeing him in the while.

At a Raw main event. Like ahead of Orton and CM Punk. Although we keep crying about how no one else gets pushed, so I guess we'll just have to stomach this one.

What they should do is send Danielson over to Smackdown now that Edge has retired. DBD isn't going to get time on Raw over Cena/Orton/Punk/Morrison/Sheamus/Ziggler/Truth or even guys like Swagger and Sin Cara. He's way better than jobbing with Santino.

With only like two or three legit main eventers on Smackdown, I just say throw as many mid cards as you can over there and eventually a few guys will assert themselves. Have Danielson feud with Del Rio in a submissions only match or Barret in a former NXT match. There's a big void on Smackdown with Mysterio/Kane/Big Show/Christian as the only established guys, so eventually someone other than Del Rio is going to have to step up.

While you're at it, send Zack Ryder over to Smackdown too so he can actually get some TV time.

Punk will be fine. Even after last year where he lost tons of matches and stunk it up with SES, he notched three victories over Cena this year, pinned Orton at EC, and looked strong in the Rumble, at EC, and in his match with Orton at Wrestlemania.

Plus all he needs to do is cut a promo to regain any heat lost. He's just like Jericho (jobbing to Truth and Slater one week, winning the world title the next).

Orton has to be going over to SmackDown. Raw is overpopulated with high/mid guys and SmackDown doesn't have any main eventers. Having Del Rio/Christian feud with a guy like Orton would give the new champ some legitimacy. I can see Orton getting swapped with someone like Big Show next week.

The last thing anyone needs for legitimacy is feud with Orton. He will bury them.

I didn't watch RAW for the second week in a row except for the Sin Cara matches but why the hell is Orton burying Punk? Punk is better on the mic, better in the ring and has way more charisma. Orton sucks. Cena is way better than Orton. All Orton does is pound the mat like a moron.

K-Kwik-Nitro segment was brutal, the turn was hilariously bad until he lit up the cigarette.

Miz's promo was ok, notice he payed homage to Jericho with the GM sit in part. Ultimo Mysterio has so much potential but keeps botching.

I can't even remember if anything else happened in that 1st hours besides those 2 matches.

besides the cole-king match i like the line up so far

i could see nexus helping orton win and turning on punk. then orton on Smackdown so he can go there off a big PPV/Feud win. Punk can not lose clean and have a built in feud on Raw. Punk will destroy Nexus to get back over and then one day he and orton can feud again and Punk can say he has a long memory yadda yadda

I know, I know, it's a work, and Mitchell Cole is everyone's favorite "Massengill" heel right now, but that whole scene is now bordering on the surrealistically absurd. And bringing JR into this was, I believe, a mistake. No one wants to see JR disrespected like he was by Cole on Monday.

Love the 3 legitmate matches in there. Being away from Wrestlemania, it's a decent chance that Punk finally wins. I don't think Christian will win just because well...frankly he just doesn't get the big push ever. That should still be a solid 15-20 minute match though. And as long as Cena doesn't leave with the title I'm happy.

With Truth going heel the other night, I think that pretty much seals the deal that Morrison stays face for the push. Which I enjoy.

I was just thinking that also. I was hoping they'd put Morrison over and he could feud with Miz, but I'm doubting it. If I had to guess now, I'd say Truth feuds with Morrison (which would be incredibly boring), and Cena squashes Miz at Extreme Rules. I'm sure they're dying to get a title back on Cena since it's been a while now. Miz would get his rematch and obviously lose.
