Let me tell you The Aerosmith Rockin Rollarcoaster and The Tower Of Terror in MGM were f**king awesome.
Also The Animal Kindom was pretty decent. The dinosaur ride was a pretty cool thrill ride and The animal safari ride was awesome if your into that stuff.
As for water parks I enjoyed Typhoon Lagoon alot more than Blizzard beach but my little ones will beg to differ. Typhoon Lagoon is more geared to the wave pool and Blizzard Beach is more geared towards water slides. Myself, I'm a pool kinda guy.
Magic Kingdom was fantastic for enjoying time with your family.
Even though there's not many thrill rides there, I found myself enjoying rides like Peter Pans Flight, Pirates Of the Carribean, and The Haunted Mansion.
I can't give an opinion on Epcot because I never Made it there.

NEW TOPIC: How big of a yinzer are you?

Have a mullet?
Drive a muscle car?
Poor grasp on the English language?
Hair metal fan?
Drink 'Ahrn City'?
There are so many...pick your poison kids....

For me it is the use of the word 'pop' instead of 'soda'.

Have a mullet? All the hair on my head combined couldn't make a mullet, let alone have one.
Drive a muscle car? I don't drive at all. But one day
Poor grasp on the English language? No
Hair metal fan? For goodness sakes, no.
Drink 'Ahrn City'? Same as above

It appears I rate pretty low on the yinzer scale.

I've always used pop. :dunno:

Drive a muscle car? Not unless a beat up Dodge Dynasty with no radio is a muscle car.
Poor grasp on the English language? No, My vocabulary is one of the few things I am proud of.
Hair metal fan? Hell yes.
Drink 'Ahrn City'? If it has alcohol in it I'll drink it.

I use soda.

Poor grasp of the English Language? Sometimes because I use slang words alot.
Hair Metal Fan? Without a doubt.
Drink Ahrn City? Hell no I'm a Bud man.

To any of you Eagles fans out there, I went to the show tonight at The Mellon Arena and it was frickin awesome.
As some of you know I'm a big Henley fan and I'll tell you what for a 50 something vocalist he sounded great.
Joe Walsh, what can I say, the guy puts on a fantastic show and also he, in my opinion is one of the most underrated guitar players ever!!! All the guy does is f**king jam.
Glen Fry was Glen Fry, sounded good when he sang his leads but basically played rythem.
The only disappointment to me was that guitar great Don Felder was not touring with the band. Don is another underrated guitarist and was sadly missed. Other than that the show was great.

Anyone like Mineo's pizza in Squirrel Hill?

After games at the Igloo, we used to go to this little hole in the wall bar.

Directions as follows: (as best I can remember them)

Walk out the main gate at the igloo. Head up the street between the parking lots and that tall building (hotel,I think)
Hang a right by the church (near a parking garage) and you end up walking down an alleyway which leads to a street and the little hole in the wall bar is right there. They had one of those covered hockey games with the dome kinda like foosball.

Anyone know the name of this bar?

Had a couple of wonderful nights down there after PENS games but can't remember the bar's name.

Thanks.

Just out of curiousity, do any of you guys go to "The Smiling Moose" on the Southside? It's an interesting place... lots of punk rock in the Jukebox, cheap drinks, and cool people, but what's really interesting is the amount of hockey jerseys they have on display. In particular, they have a signed Hedberg jersey from Sweden, and a signed Lemieux jersey.

Is the owner a hockey fan or something? What's the connection between hockey and punk (Koltsov & Briere's avatars)?

I'm still in school, just a 10th grader that likes hockey. I'm in the minority of course (about 1% if that of the people in that place actually know something about hockey).
And everyone that kinda watches hockey but not when the Pens do bad are always like "the Pens suck" and "the Pens suck," but really do not understand them at all. If they knew anything, then they would be able to see the bright points (small points, everything's kinda dim, you know?). But it makes me mad. I try not to bring the Pens up anytime because it just causes argument with me. :rolly: I'm trying to bet one of my friends (a non-believer of the Pens) $100 that the Pens will make the playoffs by 2005/2006 (my graduation year). out of curiosity, how many people here are going of school?

*raises hand*

I'll most likely be graduating high school in 2006 because I only got 2 credits in my true freshman year(health issues, I only went like 40 days of school). I'm a "social junior", but I have a sophomore homeroom.

Then college...hopefully at Penn State or Colorado State.

Didn't see this.

I'm a Junior in High School. I'll be graduating in 2005, and then going to college ... somewhere. :dunno:

I graduated from high school earlier this year. Going to Sydney U. in February/March (most probably).

I have to say, I feel sorry for you guys who won't be graduating in another year or two. I've had it with high school.

I'm playing NHL 2004 on PS2 a little. I'm in my first season with Pittsburgh in dynasty mode on the hardest setting.

Personally, I find it too damned frustrating.

By the way:
Going to Sydney U. in February/March (most probably).

I was recently accepted into Sydney University. Hurrah for me :rolly:

i got it about 2 weeks ago. i've only played about 9 games, and ive won them all. im going to up the difficultyu on the game options. it does help though that i created myself into the game (and 86. cheap, i know), not to mention i trade like crazy. usually multiple people for one guy. though somehow, i dont think buchberger, tk and dupont would fetch gagne...

I'm ten games into the 2005-2006 season and Lemieux is less than 100 goals away from Gretzky's record. I don't think I'll be able to get him to beat it.

Hey, thanks. I was pretty sure I'd be accepted, but its nice to know its now definite.

That's the console MOH game, right? I played it once, and found the controls really difficult. Honestly, I don't think its worth playing unless you have a keyboard and mouse.

Yeah, it is console. Once you get used to how it works on Xbox, it's pretty fun. I've never been much of a PC gamer though.

Ok. I don't think I'll end up getting it, anyway. I've been put off MOH after playing Call of Duty, and I'm starting to get into the Tom Clancy series with games like Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six. I've got more than enough shooters to get me by (even though Splinter Cell isn't really a shooter).

I'm thinking of picking up Madden 2004, even though I'm not much of a football fan.

I'm kind of stuck waiting around for Call of Duty to come out for Xbox.

Im actually waiting for Eastside franchise edition to come out. I love the GM simulation games. I used to buy the EA NHL series just to "play" GM and not the actual game itself.
Does anyone know of anymore GM games as comprehensive as Eastside hockey?
The only bad thing about it is that it takes forever and a day to run a season.

I also like the SSX tricky series for playstation2. Got kinda addicted to that one.

Personally, I don't think we can expect Franchise Edition to come out anytime soon, if at all. There haven't been any updates in a while, and they've been having trouble getting licenses.

Don't be surprised if EHM: Franchise Edition never sees the light of day. If it does, however, I can assure you it will steal months of my life.

Well I'm a very skeptical person by nature, so don't take my word for it as such. But I've read in the thread about EHM:FE down in The Lounge that the only license they have is from the British League. That doesn't fill me with much confidence.

They can always release the game with fake rosters, and have the already huge ehm community supply the 'true' nhl/chl/etc rosters. Several other simulators work around the licensing issue this way.

Sports Interactive is a renowned company with plenty of experience in the sports simulator industry (creators of the hugely successful soccer management sim, Championship Manager). The game may be delayed a bit -- while they pretty much have the engine worked out, it probably needs tons of tweaking to get it as realistic as possible -- but I doubt they'll bury the project anytime soon.

I'm still waiting for my Jari Kurri jersey to arrive, and the snow doesn't help in checking the mailbox. Especially considering the fact that my driveway is a big hill.

Another thing that makes me mad is I busted my butt to do my science fair project yesterday, which was due today. School was cancelled, and now it isn't due till Thursday. That means I could have gotten it done Wednesday. :D

Also, I bet the arena is REALLY empty tonight.

Help me out here with supporting my logical thinking...

About two weeks ago, I ordered a Jari Kurri jersey from this site (here's the link to the Oilers jersey): http://www.sabasports.com/ccmedoivirer.html.

Take note of the customization details. Well, I did that. But on the 'final' bill, it just charges you for the plain jersey. I emailed the guy after this with my concerns that I would end up with a plain Oilers jersey with no Kurri or 17 on it. He told me something along the lines that I will be charged seperately for the customization.

Well, today, about two weeks later, my dad gets an email that says the jersey has been shipped. But it is still only charging for the plain jersey. However, using my logical reasoning, I've concluded that they did get the jersey customized, because if they didn't, they would have sent it out the day after I ordered it or thereabouts.

Am I thinking reasonably here, or should I start fretting?

By the way, if there's no customization, they're getting it back. I followed the directions to a T, so it's up to them to provide the service correct?

I'm just overthinking this whole thing, I think.

Couldn't you just get it customized with the same official numbering and lettering by a local company? They would do the same thing(send away for the 17 and the letters) so it looks official.

Oh it'll be released, they've been working too hard to just can it, it's not like this is a big game company, this is their sole project for those involved.

It isn't reassuring at all with the lack of updates though.

Now I can't go back to my old avatar. I've found a picture resizing link thanks to the help of the feedback forum, but when I save it to my computer, it only saves as .bmp.

If anyone gets the time, could you resize this for me so it'll look decent:
