your overvaluing that 1st round pick. Your not going to get a stud forward + a 2nd round pick, in return for a mid 1st round pick. I hope you do......but i really doubt you get an established offensively gifted player + a 2nd round pick, and all the other team gets is to move up 8-10 spots in the draft, + they lose a star player.

If I was an NHL GM and have to decide between Mackinnon and Drouin I'd go with Nathan.

I think Nathan is more ready to play the NHL style than Jonathan is just by their playing style.

In the long run, maybe 5 years from now, there's a huge possibility Drouin will rack up more points than Mackinnon but being a GM or a head scout it's safer to take Nathan. There's way more upside on what can Jonathan do at the next level but on the other end we know what we can expect from the other.

There's also lots of factors in those predictions as some of you pointed out too. Like the team that they'll get drafted to and their linemates. Drouin would be well served on an offensive line along big bodys to give him space on the ice.

Let's see what happens but in the end, these are two great prospects for whoever draft them!

The ACC has been going on for years in Atlantic Canada. http://atlanticchallengecup.ca/

Each province selects its best in each age group and sends them to a Thanksgiving tournament, round robin type of thing, winner in each age group.

The Gatorade is brand new. After talking to a friend that was a coach for NB, it seems it was a big hit with HNB at least. He said it was well run and with a couple of small tweaks could be a really good evaluation tool. It was the best of the age group (97's in this years case) against the best.

So many people hype some kids, that tournament showed the true ability of the players against their peers. During the winter, some of the 97's were on good teams playing with older or other very good players. These tournaments have a bit of an equalizing effect.

Here is my NB plug. I was told that NB outshot all the teams they played against, and that even against the Quebec teams they were very competitive and carried the play for long stretches. Had Quebec not had stellar goaltending the outcomes could have been different.

Oh okay.

Well if it gets them their shot, and helps them it sounds good to me.
