According to Amanda Stein of Team 990.

I have it on good authority that the #Habs have sent Blair Betts back to Philly because he did not pass his physical.

**** Philly!

Gary320 10-09-2011 10:15 AM

I always wondered what would happen if a player ever failed physical.
Also wondered how could we claim a player who is injured.

guest1467 10-09-2011 10:16 AM

Hahaha, I find this extremely humorous because of how excited you all were about a marginal player.

Coldplay 10-09-2011 10:16 AM

Epic ****ing fail.

shutehinside 10-09-2011 10:16 AM

Does that put them over the cap? I hope it does. ********.

The Kremelin Wall* 10-09-2011 10:17 AM

Darn.

Coldplay 10-09-2011 10:17 AM

Once again: epic ****ing fail. Jeez.

couris 10-09-2011 10:18 AM

Epic fail. Go Enqvist go.

Munchausen 10-09-2011 10:18 AM

This team is cursed.

donghabs98 10-09-2011 10:19 AM

does that mean we have to sign a player now

Guess Engqvist will have to suffice for now. Who knows maybe he'll grow into the role and we won't have to sign or trade for a fourth liner.

Watsatheo 10-09-2011 10:21 AM

Something tells me Philly waived him even though he was injured...

What is such a failure about it?

They saw a player they were interested in on waivers, claimed him, did a physical on him, he failed, so they sent him back.

zzoo 10-09-2011 10:22 AM

That means we have to stick with Engqvist ? I want Halpern or Pyatt back ! :p:

Andy 10-09-2011 10:22 AM

I assume he failed his physical because he was hurt. My next question the becomes: Is philly even allowed to put an injured player on waivers? Their GM is very sketchy with cap crap.

Et le But 10-09-2011 10:22 AM

Is there any penalty that can be taken against Philly for waiving an injured player?

Markowicz 10-09-2011 10:22 AM

I have to admit, this is ridonculous. Well at least we're not LA with Colin Fraser...

donghabs98 10-09-2011 10:23 AM

philly finds way to always screw us

Gary320 10-09-2011 10:23 AM

I really dont see how Flyers aren't fined.

I mean if he was injured AFTER... then I dont get how we can send him back..

Holmgren is a ******. How many times as been caught screwing around with contracts and waiver things now?

Should get a penalty for not following protocol(I'm assuming you can't waive an injured player).

Fail in that this ended up happening to us. We claimed him to play prime PK minutes and take face-offs, and now we learn he's damaged goods.

I'm not blaming Gauthier or anything, just that it's ridiculous this ended up happening.

Now we have a hole in our lineup, unless anyone here actually believes Engqvist is ready for action (which I'm not sure he is).
