Good to hear. I'm sure he'll have some quieter stretches as the season goes along too but I wouldn't be surprised to see him put up monster totals when it's all said and done. The guy is extremely talented and a relentless worker. Can't wait to see him in Montreal!

guest1467 10-10-2011 09:54 PM

Did the same thing last season. 17 PTS in first 9 games or something ridiculous.

LyricalLyricist 10-10-2011 10:00 PM

Rather him than palushaj tbh.

Le Tricolore 10-10-2011 10:02 PM

He's the man now, dawg.

Then when he falters people would cry that we rushed him. Might as well just develop him properly anyways. Would prefer AHL for obvious reasons and I guess junior will be a waste if he keeps up this production, good for confidence but quite obvious he's too good for that level if he keeps this 2.0ppg~ pace.

Don't we have until Jan to bring him back up if we want him though?

With Bournival with 13pts in 7 games in the Q, it good to hear

Crimson Skorpion 10-10-2011 10:21 PM

The sole goal against was due to a pretty bad turnover by Gallagher.

Other than that, he had quite a solid game. The combination of him and Tvrdon seem pretty dangerous in the offensive zone. Creating turnovers, working hard and scoring goals.

Any news about Bournival ? A few days ago, I've heard that he was very hot too.

Captain Saku 10-10-2011 10:50 PM

other than his size, is there a reason he was drafted only in the 5th round?

Teufelsdreck 10-10-2011 10:53 PM

It's always nice to hear about feats of Hab prospects. Too bad it wasn't against Tim Thomas or Ryan Miler.

I meant for 9 game tryout. Never intended to keep him. Just would be good now with the injuries.

RE-HABS 10-10-2011 10:58 PM

Gallagher and Bournival are looking like two potential WJC players, and also two top 6 players in the future for the Habs.

Thank god for Timmins late round gems, and Gauthier getting a great prospect for O'Byrne!

Oh, yeah definitely would be worth trying that out.

He won't. No one posts 2 PPG in the WHL.

Whitesnake 10-10-2011 11:01 PM

Nothing too surprising, he was doing it last year. Still fun to hear and mostly important for his confidence for the next World Juniors. Based on the kids that might not be available, he might be playing an important role now. I wish Bournival will to. Don't have high hopes for Beaulieu though. But 2 guys would be great to see. How many times did that happen for the Worlds to see 2 Habs players in the team? 2006 with Lats and Chip (and future Habs like Boyd, Pyatt, Blunden and Pouliot but that doesn't count). And before that? We have to go back in 2000 with 3 guys (Chouinard, Ribeiro and Ryder).

Gallagher is pretty close to a lock if healthy. Bournival was last cut last year so I expect him to get a bottom-six role.

It would be sick to see them together on a two-way energy line!

Love watching the prospects at the WJC...hopefully Tinordi is there for the US too.

Bullsmith 10-10-2011 11:37 PM

Whatever complaints one might have about camp/pre-season, it's hard to fault the chance the Habs gave to their Junior prospects this year. Bealieu, Gallagher, Tinordi and even Bournival, despite injury, got to play top line minutes against top line (preseason) opposition. It's not shocking they've all shown up in the CHL playing at a high level.

Good post.

And I think people are going to be happy with Tinordi this season, he is the Captain and ready to step up. Looked good with the big club, time to dominate.

neofury* 10-10-2011 11:54 PM

Wow I didn't know Tinordi was 0g2a2pts +5 in 5 games. 15 PIM but it's to be expected for the type of player he is. Glad to see he's starting off to a good season.

To be fair though nobody on the team is a minus player and they have plenty of higher plus ratings. Also two D who are also 6'7" aside from Tinordi... this team must be pretty physical

Speed, allegedly, although I sure don't see it as a problem at all.

Pretty sure it was mainly size. He doesn't seem slow even at the NHL level imo.

Agree. I was hoping that he would have made the team. The kid has mad skills.
