The use of PGT (post game talk) threads after games?

I see many other team boards using these. Wanted to throw out a quick poll to see what you all think about going this route for this season.

mrwarden 10-11-2011 09:00 PM

I think most people are comfortable using the GDTs for this kind of thing, I among them. But certainly whatever people want to do is cool with me. My mod stats will go up if we lock the gdts after the games.

HSHS 10-11-2011 09:03 PM

Whatever. But I prefer to search one thread when searching for my Sarge hate. :sarcasm:

mrwarden 10-11-2011 09:05 PM

If we lock this thread now, the mods can keep responding and none of the regular posters will be able to ;)

Is that a much sought after metric? I've always been a K/D ratio guy :sarcasm:.

I definitely just wanted to throw it out there to the caps posters here. I'm fine sticking with the GDT if the majority prefer. I guess thinking about the GDTs as more of a live flow of the game and with PGTs direct to non-live analysis/debate.

Nah, it's easier to call out the early-game panicking pessimists when we eventually win if all posts are contained in the same thread. It also makes it easier to tell them you absolutely agreed with them when we flame out in the playoffs.

I remember who agrees with me.

RandyHolt 10-11-2011 09:38 PM

why not try something different. It will take no effort to go back to not using it.

Its nice for people that go to games, I presume.

Chimaera 10-11-2011 10:09 PM

If this movement is a push from outside this board, no! Resist!

If it's a board move, then fine.

XDC-RES 10-11-2011 10:13 PM

Personally, I hate sifting through one huge megathread. I don't understand the resistance to making more threads (provided the topics aren't redundant).

If people don't want to open multiple threads they don't have to. Whom does it hurt? It would just save time for those interested in discussing one point rather than pages and pages of "you're a hater" and "you're drinking kool-aid!".

Originally I was all for PGTs. But this fine argument has swayed me. If it's the HFboards popo cracking down and wanting us to use PGTs, tell 'em to shove them right back where they came from. FIGHT THE POWER

LetsGoBears 10-11-2011 10:19 PM

I'm a minimize the clutter type guy and I think all the extra threads aren't needed.

Knew it. Bunch of jack booted thugs.

ChibiPooky 10-11-2011 10:34 PM

Meh. Questions from before the game answered after the game. Same thread is useful.

All threads return to bb, 55, and 28...

Or strung becoming mellow yellow

Hivemind 10-11-2011 10:43 PM

I've changed my theory. I think this is HSHS's doing. Worst mod ever.

Edit: he's in my head!

Ovechkins Wodka 10-12-2011 09:31 AM

just use the GTD. I just go to the last page when i want to read post game thoughts

WetHog 10-12-2011 09:34 AM

I prefer staying with the GDT. Easy to go back to earlier posts.

Having said that, GDT for Skins games is a must! ;)

Marshall 10-12-2011 10:10 AM

I'd prefer a separate post-game thread, personally. Not a huge issue either way, I don't think.

usiel 10-12-2011 10:44 AM

Nah nothing outside of this board. Was really just my own thought.

strungout 10-12-2011 10:46 AM

More Threads = Annoying to strungout

BrooklynCapsFan 10-12-2011 11:05 AM

If we all lived our lives trying to minimize annoyances to strungout, we'd all be sitting at home, alone, in a corner, with the lights out.

Naw he loves changing diapers. So just put on your adult depends, eat some diuretic and invite him over.
