The goal song thread

So apparently there's a new song, based on what people who went to the game on Thursday said. Hopefully it plays a few times tonight so we can find out what it is.

Does anyone have any ideas? Or was it too loud in the Bell Centre to have any thoughts on it?

Jigger77 10-15-2011 03:42 PM

Are they playing it from the start or from the part after the intro at 1:30?

Viggo Mortensen 10-15-2011 03:50 PM

Turbonegro? Hmmmmm cheesy

Le Tricolore 10-15-2011 03:52 PM

Is that really it? Heh.. bad.

Sounds like an EA sports song.
Welcome to the Bell Center where we promote a family atmosphere. Enjoy our generic, not too edgy goal song.

At least it's not a U2 song I guess.

pine* 10-15-2011 03:54 PM

If I recall correctly, I think it starts around 1:53. But without the lyrics that follow

Spectaculard 10-15-2011 03:55 PM

Hey, its better than vertigo!

ThaDevilGirl 10-15-2011 04:02 PM

At least it's not Simple Plan.

Jigger77 10-15-2011 04:13 PM

This is the song I listened to before every playoff game last year and the year before that. We usually pop it in just before puck drop at my buddy's house. The intro part would be my goal song.

I understand it might scare the happy people at the Bell though. :naughty:

I couldn't agree with you more TDG.

I like it, but I'm not sure if this would go over well.

 Yeah figured as much.

"So you think you had a real good pizza? Well not like this."

I thought we would have a real good goal song. Well not like this.

But TDG had it right: At least it's not Simple Plan.

Turbonegro are BADASS! Now can we please get the freaking entrance song changed, That stupid coldplay song about dudes crying has got to go, enough is enough, it doesn't pump anyone up and it's a block of chedder cheese as a song. It's so bad i've taken to muting and changing the channel when the habs step onto the ice

Mathradio 10-15-2011 05:17 PM

If only it was a Montreal-based band other than Simple Plan instead...

Actually, the song goes well with the kids skating on the ice. Very emotional and I've always loved it.

Goldthorpe 10-15-2011 05:30 PM

Should have been Arcade Fire "Wake Up"

You'd think with all the great local bands (besides Simple Plan) they'd find something to embrace the community.

As far as this song goes...well, at least it's not Vertigo, and double that for that atrocious Simple Plan song.

I've been waiting for this for years.

Damn straight, buddy! High on Fire or Baroness would be absolutely boss. Jake Leg by Baroness would be incredible :yo:

Same here, I will forever connect a lyric-less Fix You starting at 2:35 to the little kids and the Habs jumping onto the ice.

Actually it's terrible man, there is nothing that pumps me up about a dude crying, if that gets you pumped up then so be it, but you might wanna get that checked out with a psychiatrist.

Seb 10-15-2011 05:50 PM

Awful :S

If so it isn't that bad IMO.

Hmm, are you sure that the intro uses his voice? As far as I know, the intro only recycles the instrumental part of the song... so where is the crying coming from?

I still think Tick Tick Boom would be a great goal song... I think its mainstream enough that the general audience would accept it
