The "Fire Arniel" Thread

It was going to come up sooner or later. Hardcore Hockey? Earn It? Great slogans, but the CBJ have been routinely outworked for the last three years. Viva la country club!

I can't even get motivated enough to care.... Fire, keep em hired.. What the hell ever.

Firing Hitch was a mistake, hiring Arniel was a mistake. Keeping Howson is a mistake. I'm done arguing with you all about any of it.

If Arniel turns it around good for him. But the 2A's can just go away... I'll just ignore that they exist.

If the Blue Jackets were a bank the Federal Reserve would be giving them billions of dollars in bailouts.
If the Blue Jackets were a politician they'd be naked on the internet.
If the Blue Jackets were a flavor of Starburst they would be lemon.
If the Blue Jackets were a steak they would be well done.
If the Blue Jackets were a check they would bounce.
If the Blue Jackets were a fart they'd make you go to the bathroom and check.
If the Blue Jackets were an episode of The Office they would be one without Steve Carell.
If the Blue Jackets were a Godfather movie they would be Godfather 3.

He might last until the end of the month.

Yet this is Arniel's second season. He can't be blamed for all of it.

Fred Glover 10-15-2011 09:43 PM

I don't care who the GM is

I don't care who the coach is

I don't care who the players are

All I care about is the Blue Jackets winning.

I don't root for a coach

I don't root for a GM

I root for a team called the Blue Jackets.

Make all the changes you want, I just want to win

Bottom line, I just want to win

joshjoshjosh 10-15-2011 09:43 PM

If the Blue Jackets were orange juice they would be from concentrate
If the Blue Jackets were a road its potholes would crack your oil pan
If the Blue Jackets were a movie it would have Nicholas Cage in it and it would be terrible

He deserves the same fate as the guy responsible for the third year.

It's his team. It's Howson's team. You like what you see? They better figure out how to get back to .500 by game 20.

82 Games - 5 Games = 77 Games

77 Games remaining.

Do you like what you're watching??

Based on everything we know about the team/coach/front office/etc, what makes you think they'll all of a sudden play better?

CapnCornelius 10-15-2011 09:48 PM

It amazes me that Arniel, for some reason, gets less leeway than his boss.

Yep, that sure is a good reason.... #downthumb

At this point, no. But he's rapidly blowing his grace period. I could change my mind by the end October.

This is a new level of suck, even for the Jackets. I've never seen a team lose 5 straight games in the exact same ****ing way. Failure to tie up guys in front of the net/intercept cross-crease passes. Complete power play outage. Complete lack of secondary scoring. I've played NHL 12 games against simmed teams that have shown more of an ability to adjust then this team has. And that falls 100% on Arniel.

You may disagree with my belief that this is a playoff calibur team, but I don't see how anybody can disagree with my belief that this team isn't as bad as what we've seen to this point. Something's gotta give.

It can't get worse. The season won't wait for us to get better, we have 77 games. It wont stop. They have nowhere to go but up.

What amazes me is that we still don't have a Sr. Advisor. EIther Howson can't find one or doesn't want one, or maybe no one wants to come here? I don't get that, they talk about getting Howson some "help" but this position is still open. I don't know if it would make much of a difference, but this is glaring to me.

Yeah Hitch probably that during his losing streak.

There's a Fire Howson thread too. I think a lot of us are fed up with the whole lot of them - GM, head coach, ownership. Our franchise is at risk because of these bozos.

And we already have a guy on the payroll who would make a very good Sr. Advisor.

I agree that this is a playoff team, but I agree with Leesmith, this team continually shows a lack of effort. How may times have we heard that "we have been outworked"? The excuses by this point are lame. Something has to give. I just want them to win, I don't care what they do to right the ship, just right the ship. When a boat is sinking the people in the boat don't care how they are saved, they just want to be saved. We have been following this stinking, sinking ship for over ten years now. I don't care what they do, just right the ship

I 100% agree and his name isn't Priest

leeway? They are tied at the hip now.

AlienLanes82 10-15-2011 10:00 PM

Aaron Johnson was the best Jacket defender in the single game he played. Then, he was sent to the press box, never to reemerge. Even when the other players were soooooo tirrrreeeeeed from their 3 games in 4 nights.

I just have no idea what the guy is thinking.
