If (big if) true you guys must want him to convert to wing. No holes at centre in Vancouver...

What would Phoenix want in return? Schroeder?

SaskOil* 10-16-2011 02:20 PM

Ya definitely don't get that one...

monster_bertuzzi 10-16-2011 02:21 PM

Yes please.

Dugray 10-16-2011 02:23 PM

If Turris does get traded to Vancouver he'd probably be shifted to the wing to make a Turris-Kesler-Hodgson line once Kesler comes back.

Likely something centered (pardon the pun) around Hodgson who's two way game is much stronger than Turris's. Before everyone gets worked up realize that this may be some sort of package deal that could involve any number of Phoenix's defensive prospects along with Turris. It won't involve OEL though.

Didn't Schroeder struggle at the AHL last year?

I'd assume that if the trade were to be made, it would center around Schneider and Turris. Big if on whether it gets made, but the Canucks could slot him into the Sturm role at wing and he'd probably be a good fit for the 'Nucks.

Schneider + Sturm for Turris or something along those lines.

Sounds like a top line for years to come if they perform.

Schneider is a given

Not sure why any team would want Sturm though

Nuckles 10-16-2011 02:26 PM

Link to a credible source please.

Well....Sturm would probably be a throw in to make it work. Either that or he's waived once the trade is made.

I think Phoenix is happy with Smith in goal until one of Domingue, Lee, or Visentin is ready to assume the role.

Phoenix's needs are at forward and specifically Center ice.

Lucbourdon 10-16-2011 02:27 PM

It's E4+ not E4 nub!

Schneider + Schroeder for Turris+ would probably make sense then. It's pretty much a given that it would be around Schneider if there's a deal with the Canucks, and I think they're set on keeping Hodgson.

Luongo for Turris.
Book it.

JonusHoglund 10-16-2011 02:30 PM

lol eklund. Turris wants out, Phoenix needs a goalie, Nucks have an extra one. Time to spit out nonsense.

And not a fan of either team but Vancouver hangs up on Turris for Schneider

monster_bertuzzi 10-16-2011 02:31 PM

Turris-Hodgson-Kesler would kick some serious ass for years to come but they are all out of position some.

He's better than Volpatti/Weise and maybe Sturm, plus he still has good potential to improve.

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Higgins-Hodgson-Turris
Sturm-Lapierre-Samuelsson
Weise-Malhotra-Hansen

And when Kesler/Raymond get back...

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Raymond-Kesler-Hodgson
Higgins-Turris-Samuelsson
Lapierre-Malhotra-Hansen

I'd like to get Turris, but I wouldn't give up Schneider/Hodgson for him.

Offdapost* 10-16-2011 02:33 PM

uh oh here we go, man the lifeboats

MAGICMAN1963 10-16-2011 02:34 PM

From what i have read,Turris is still in Vancouver skating daily. He did skate with the Canucks at UBC before all traing camps opened. If there is a Turris trade happening with the Canucks,it would need to be a multi player ,im thinking.

I just don't think Phoenix management is looking for a goalie. Smith is their guy. Right or wrong and nothing over the first 4 games (Smith with a .917 save percentage) has likely changed their perspective.

Eklund is playing the Turris is from Burnaby and given his close relationship with his parents (who appear to be the "masterminds" behind the holdout) is putting two and two together.

Lots of time for them to learn their new positions. :yo:

If you're offered a young upgrade like that and you don't have to sacrifice anything beyond a prospect and a (very good) young goalie, I think you pull the trigger. Adding another player who showed the kind of jam Turris had in last year's playoffs is exactly what the Canucks need to contend for an extended period of time.

Like I mentioned, I think Phoenix is willing to sit on Turris for as long as it takes, but if they're really looking to move him and the Canucks have the spare assets, they should do it. It's not like trading picks/assets for rentals, they'd be trading for a future core player.
