Teams interested in Rene Bourque

Just mentioned on TSN, any speculation who would be interested?

Jack de la Hoya 10-18-2011 07:33 PM

Me: Men interested in Scarlet Johansson.

Teams interested in Bouque--I'm not sure how that's news.

Now if Calgary was looking to move him, that would be news.

Chandrashekhar Limit 10-18-2011 07:33 PM

Toronto.

Wouldn't mind another deal with the flames :D

duxfan8 10-18-2011 07:34 PM

Ducks would probably be interested since Blake is out, but depends on what Calgary would want in return

Flames Fanatic 10-18-2011 07:34 PM

I'd rather just keep him unless the deal blows us away. Bourque is the next closet thing we have to legit top line talent after Tanguay and Iggy. On a team full of barely second liners and tweeners, we need him.

Of course, I would definitely be asking for a 1st in the deal

nzoilerfan 10-18-2011 07:39 PM

If they get a good offer for him (being younger players/futures) then they should by all means move him while he has good value. If that is now or at the deadline I don't know, but at least at the deadline they will have a clearer idea of where they are in the playoff race.

KirbyDots 10-18-2011 07:40 PM

Could see the sharks being interested. Would really help out our scoring, might even be able to role three lines well like last year. Bourque is ok in my book. Wouldn't mind it at all.

bam09 10-18-2011 07:40 PM

I'd move him but I'd wait until he gets hot to maximize value. Rebuilding needs to start, and in not to many years when we're consistently at the top, an oft injured 30 something year old player with 2-4 years left on a contract(even though the hit is reasonable) will be even further expendable. Now, we can get value and extra pieces for later.

I'd think a first and a decent prospect or something is fair.

sparxx87 10-18-2011 07:47 PM

Clarke MacArthur + Brad Ross

BigDmitriy 10-18-2011 07:52 PM

1st '12 + Braun from the Sharks?

I saw he is signed for quite a few years at a 3.3M cap hit...doesn't seem too bad. I'd go for it - would CGY trade him to SJ for that package? Also, I believe he has a modified NTC...would he wave?

tmurfin 10-18-2011 07:54 PM

If the deals right I'd move him, by right I mean 1st+

Calgary doesn't make this trade and frankly Burke wouldn't offer it, rightfully so.

Keep what we have unless its an improvement, and this to me is a sideways dance.

bananaz 10-18-2011 07:59 PM

I don't see feaster moving him right now for picks and prospects. The Flames want to be competitive this year and trading Bourque for a 1st + prospect decreases their chances of winning.

If Bourque is moving, it's going to be for an upgrade at a certain position so expect roster players coming back. If Bourque does happen to be moved for picks/prospects, it's going to be closer to the trade deadline or at the draft.

FlamesFan18 10-18-2011 08:00 PM

Unless the deal is an overpayment I wont be happy

LeafsandSharksfan 10-18-2011 08:00 PM

Bourque for Isles 1st, straight up

caley 10-18-2011 08:07 PM

The gist of the report was that with Calgary struggling, Jay Feaster is not going to be as patient as he was last year and that teams have come calling about Rene Bourque and when asked if he could be moved, Feaster hasn't said no.

He is one of our prospects - very solid offensive defenseman who is decent in his own zone. The guy has one helluva shot and is #8 on our depth chart only because our D-corps got very deep this year with the additions of Burns, White, and Vandermeer.

The 1st will be in the high 20s (unless we keep up our current s*** streak), so not fantastic but it's a deep draft as I have heard, so I think it will be an alright pick.

Finally, I saw on capgeek that Bourque does indeed have a modified NTC.

Would that be a fair deal - thoughts?

A 2nd year pro (last year was his first pro season split between Worcester and San Jose), two-way defenseman. He's good with his stick, has a solid slapshot, and a quick wrist-shot that seems to always make it to the net. Should be ready for full-time NHL duties next season.

UAGoalieGuy 10-18-2011 08:33 PM

Rangers would be interested and put him on a line with Richards and Gaborik.

Thomas, Wolski (For salary purposes, last year of contract), 2011 2nd for Bourque.

Walkingthroughforest 10-18-2011 08:39 PM

Bourque won't be moving unless its a package for a #1 C. We have too many second liners.

It would be a Lecavalier or a Spezza coming back to Calgary.

LEAFANFORLIFE23 10-18-2011 08:43 PM

I'm sure Burke could offer you up some more depth
