Bored again ;)
Here comes a possible lineup for the olympics 2010, assuming that NHLers will participate then. If all players develops good, this could be a really good offensive roster. The top 3 lines all include offensive talents.
Niklas Kronwall - Christian Bäckman
Johan Fransson - Lars Jonsson
Daniel Fernholm - Douglas Murray
Oscar Hedman - Johnny Oduya
Johannes Salomonsson - Carl Söderberg - Henrik Zetterberg
Daniel Sedin - Henrik Sedin - Mattias Weinhandl
Loui Eriksson - Alexander Steen - Nicklas Bergfors
Fredrik Sjöström - Yared Hagos - Martin Samuelsson
Andreas Jämtin, Linus Videll, Marcus Jonasén
Looks interesting, but I need Wallin on that roster...
Looks like a physical team.
age breakdown of your team, Robertsson 4-ever.
Mikael Tellqvist, 31
Henrik Lundqvist, 28
Magnus Åkerlund, 24
Douglas Murray, 30
Christian Bäckman, 30
Niklas Kronwall, 29
Johnny Oduya, 29
Johan Fransson, 25
Lars Jonsson, 28
Daniel Fernholm, 27
Oscar Hedman, 24
Henrik Zetterberg, 30
Daniel Sedin, 30
Henrik Sedin, 30
Mattias Weinhandl, 30
Yared Hagos, 28
Martin Samuelsson, 28
Andreas Jämtin, 27
Marcus Jonasén, 26
Alexander Steen, 26
Fredrik Sjöström, 26
Carl Söderberg, 25
Linus Videll, 25
Loui Eriksson, 25
Johannes Salomonsson, 24
Nicklas Bergfors, 23
Average age: 27,23. That is is pretty young, but the thing that is more noticeable is that Tellqvist is the only player over 30.. which I am quite positive will not be the case.
I think you should consider some of these players...
Nils Ekman, 34
Kim Johnsson, 34 (lock IMO)
Mattias Öhlund, 34 (lock IMO)
Samuel Påhlsson, 33 (lock IMO)
Kristian Huselius, 32 (he'll bounce back! :))
Marcus Nilson, 32 (lock IMO)
Michael Holmqvist, 31
Henrik Tallinder, 31
Rickard Wallin, 30
Christian Berglund, 30
Actually I wouldn't be surprised if Sundin and Forsberg (assuming his body hangs together) is still around by 2010. With the likes of Larionov and Messier playing in their fourties, it wouldn't be too surprising if Sundin and Forsberg is still active at 37 and 39. Sundin clearly won't give up until he has won a cup - and that could take a long time - and Forsberg obviously loves the game.
Interesting roster, but I'd like to see Mikael Zajkowski there as well. Possibly Tobias and/or brother Tommy Enström too. :)
I wouldn't be surprised if Michael Holmqvist (The Zlatan of hockey as Hardy put it) has had his breakthrough in the NHL by then... He is technically sound, good physically and has a decent scoring touch... I'd say he should have a chance.
Johannes Salmonsson, Robert Nilsson, Tom Wandell, Alexander Sundström, Mattias Hellström to mention a few.
But then again, there will be big changes in terms of development for several players... so...
BTW, can I see some alternate teams?
