expect a sluggish start with the travel and layoff since saturday. hopefully they weather the storm and pull away in the 2nd and 3rd. oilers D has been surprisingly decent so far so i'll predict a low scoring win. 3-2 caps, goals from n00bs, brouwer (deflection) and wardo. vokoun saves 29/31.

4-2 loss tonight and a loss in Vancouver as well to bring the boys back down to earth. :amazed:

interesting times. this is a probably a lose as they are not going to win them all. on the other hand a win here presents the possibility that the caps are opening 24oz. can of juggernaut on the league this season.

quick check of the standings shows that even at 7-0-0 the caps are looking up at the penguins in the standings. more motivation.

I hope not, there are couple of "fans" here ready to trade Ovechkin while we are 7-0, i can only imagine whats going to happen if we lose 2 in a row.

A loss will cause them to blame other players who didn't play well instead of focusing on Ovechkin not playing at an absurd level.

quiet as it has been, backstrom, 10pts in 7 games, is on a 100pt pace and ovechkin has 5pts in the last 3 games, historically doesnt breakout til december 1 anyway.

More like bookwork tomorrow for the students so I can vegetate.

Hoping for a 7-6 barn burner, but with the recent surprise play of the Oilers and two hot goalies I will predict a 1-0 Oilers win.;)

could be a trap game. playing a weak team after a long layof and traveling west without green.

No trade OV talk from me, or hysterics if they lose 2 in a row. Just figured with the long lay off between last game and this one, and a lot of travel will figure into a mini slide. If not 0-2 on this roadie, then at least 1-1 split. No biggie regardless. Can't win them all.
