Nickname game
 

Something light to take your mind off of the team.

Come up with nicknames for the players. Based off the name, based off of their attributes, based off of a chain of tenuous connections. It doesn't matter. Bonus points for creativity.

Here's a wacky one. DSP = "Timmay!" Some around here have taken to calling him Devo. Somehow I think the players call him that too, but I'm not sure. Anyways, Devo (like the band) sounds very similar to Tebow, who's been getting a lot of press recently. And in highlights, ESPN has taken to shouting "Timmay!" during Tebow highlights. Follow the chain and you get Devante Smith-Pelly = Timmy!



And I already did this earlier for an avatar for the series we never used, but I'll call Getzlaf the "Civil Engineer." And what's his specialty? Overpasses.

I've been calling Bonino by the nickname of "Boner".

McMillan has inherited the name of Big Mack, after McElhinney was booted. At the time I called McMillan Lil' Mack.

Boner matches well with Cumiskey. An Av fan said they call him "Quick Cumer" because he skates so fast.

I call McMillan "Little Mac." I like to imagine him in a black tank top and green shorts.

Perry I call the "Goalie Humper."

Going with the Punch Out theme, maybe Getzlaf should be Bear Hugger or Bald Bull.

Back when Beleskey was a rookie and I had to create him in NHL09 because he didn't exist in the game to begin with, I would make the announcer call him "Biscuit" because it was the only thing even remotely close to "Beleskey".

Also, in Swedish: Foster = fetus and Missfoster = monstrosity/freak.

Does he have a theme song by Taio Cruz?

Ha. I think I like Fetus for Foster. Kurtis Fetus. He's about as useful at defending as a fetus. And his slapshot is so strong, it's like he absorbed a fetus in the womb so he now has the strength of a grown man and a little baby.

I called RPG: Really Poor Gameplan last night.

I've also always called McMillan; McMuffin.

I call McMillan and Macenauer: M&M`s. But they`re on seperate lines for most part, so it`s not that often.

Like what i`m reading here so far.

On Twatter Holland was called Holy by DSP.. i mean Timmy.
I remember us calling Timmy a ''Double-double'' when we drafted him. Could go well with LittleMac, lol.

What was yesterday with the burger thing on Queens board. Didn`t payed attention but they had a lot of pics with burgers.

Can we name Foster: Helena? :sarcasm:


And actually i`ll call Sbisa: Tony.
He`s a real mafia gankster. Why Tony? The Sopranos, ofcourse.

If Perry ever starts scoring again he can once again be Scorey Perry, and tell defenses to Perry on My Wayward Son.

RPG sure looks like they'd rather play golf next May.
