Zack Smith

Hey all,

I'd just like to point out that it's been a pleasure listening to the games and seeing Zach Smith's development this year. The thing that sticks out the most from him is his tenacity. Don't look now, but he's quietly becoming one of the more tenacious players in the league.

Discuss.

We have been, where have you been. :) I've been talking about him for a few weeks now & I've had him as my avatar since last yr's playoff run. Glad to see others like his game as well, hopefully he keeps getting better. I have also been pimping Greening all yr.

Agreed.

Reminds me of a young Patrick Poulin.

I'm a huge Zack Smith fan. Here's hoping that he continues to play well for us, continues to improve and stays here for the long haul!

hockeyalltheway 11-08-2011 02:35 PM

No. Zack Smith's tenacity is NOT becoming the new Condra's stamina.

Yashin 11-08-2011 02:36 PM

Aren't you the guy that started the Steven Costa and Rick Condra threads?

Solid comparison.

I'd say he reminds me more of an old Shea Howorko.

Smith still needs more jam to his game, actually he's doing pretty good in the jam department, needs more gak though. He's gotta fill those lines and plunge deeply into those holes by adding some gak. A player with great gak control was Per Gustaffson.

Is it owned by Todd Gak?

I think he's Dutch.

In all seriousness, Z.Smith to me is a 3rd/4th line tweener. I think he's got the offensive consistency of Neil.

My primary issue with Smith is his face. What's the deal with his face?

Agreed. Until this issue gets resolved, I'd like to see him scratched for a couple of games to send a message.

But that's unfair, Foligno has been equally ugly ever since he arrived in Ottawa and has had more opportunities. Smith is being treated unfairly.

If Zack is a 3rd fourth line tweener with 2 goals and 5 assists (+3), where in your opinion does Foligno belong with his 3 goals and 3 assists (-4)?

Keep in mind Foligno has achieved his awesome offensive stats getting 2nd line TOI.

Would you like to be the one who has to tell Foligno, TO HIS FACE, that he is scratched?

Didn't think so.
