NEWS & NOTES

QUOTES TO NOTE

It's big to finish this homestand with another two points. It wasn't a pretty game at all, but Biron was outstanding in net and got the shutout for us.
- Marian Gaborik

Things are going good, but we want them to continue. We know how things go in a season, it's like a roller coaster.
You have to make sure you stay with the bumps and when you are on the high you want to make sure to stay there and try to continue to play hard.
- Derek Stepan

We have to try to establish ourselves. I think this is the start for us. It opened up our game pretty well. Some guys, you can see their game coming.
You look at Stepan and he’s stepping out. Our defense, you just see guys getting into their games.
- John Tortorella

Kane One 11-09-2011 01:35 AM

LGR! This is going to be my first game I'll have to listen to on the radio. I expect a fairly easy win. Obviously that means the Rangers are going to make it hard, but we should win.

WalterHeisenberg 11-09-2011 01:52 AM

LGR!

4-1 Rangers
(2) Anismiov, (1) Gaborik, (1) Dubinsky

mike14 11-09-2011 02:13 AM

Rangers atone for their last outing against the Sens and win 6-1: Gaborik 2, Boyle 1, Avery 1, McD 1, MDZ 1

I love alfredsson to death (and don't wish any injury on him) but thank goodness he's not playing this game...on the bright side for ottawa fans wolski ended up injured too....:help:

Now lets see if they can shut down the lonely spezza.

And Michalek...and Karlsson.

Play a sound defensive game that builds offense off the counterattack, and we should be able to win this one...Ottawa has been a difficult team to play this season. they're resilient and tireless; we know this for a fact.

Michalek is playing injured, I'm pretty sure.

Imo, there is no such thing as an "easy win" in this league.

MetalGodAOD 11-09-2011 04:11 AM

This game will be tight and prob go to OT. Don't expect an easy win.

darko 11-09-2011 05:27 AM

Rangers 3
Sens 2

LGR

He didn't make the trip to Ottawa because he's still getting medical checks and junk like that. Not sure when he's supposed to start playing.

McDonagh27 11-09-2011 07:00 AM

I'll be in attendance tonight.. I've had a crazy good run of wins and good games that i have attended in Ottawa.. Happy to see Richie live for the first time. LGR 3-1 win. Del Zotto, Cally and Feds with the goals.

Jabroni 11-09-2011 07:20 AM

Wow, didn't know Anisimov has 7 assists already.

Must be all of that Stargate Atlantis.

Revelation 11-09-2011 07:34 AM

This is a game we have to get 2 points out of. Ottawa, while playing well, is still a lower-tier team in this league. With the team we have this season, we should take care of business on the road.

On a side not, this is the first team since the lockout that I genuinely feel can compete with anyone. I remember going into games in past seasons thinking: "Well, there's about a 75% chance we lose this game. We just can't compete with the skill level of the other team." It's refreshing!

We haven't started playing teams like wash pitts Philly Boston yet but yeah I know what your saying.

We matched up decently last year to most teams and this year it only can get better.

surf 11-09-2011 08:40 AM

3-2 Sens

This board has been too happy lately. We need more crazy trade threads and more doom and gloom about our D and the need for Torts being fired.

Swept In Seven 11-09-2011 09:19 AM

Lets Go Rangers!

Time to start taking control and playing up to your potential, no more excuses. Go get number 5 on this winning streak

lebear 11-09-2011 09:27 AM

Of the four upcoming games, I've got a feeling this might be the hardest.

Although Wolski is out, might the Senators be out for blood?

NYR Viper 11-09-2011 09:39 AM

They need to exploit the Sens defense. Work the puck down low and they will have success. Allow them to get their forecheck going and it will be a long night.

McNashty 11-09-2011 09:39 AM

LGR!

Dubi nets his 1st one of the year

skroob** 11-09-2011 09:48 AM

They have a team GAA near 4. We gotta get our shots in....

Revelation 11-09-2011 10:01 AM

That picture of Craig Anderson is creepy as ****.

silverfish 11-09-2011 10:14 AM

The East is off to a good start this year so the Rangers really need to take points when they can.

Hank's been good in his career in Ottawa, build off that with some solid board play and puck possession and let's leave with a win.
