NHL All Star ballot released

per Zips tweet

Hank, Gabby, Richards and Staal on ballot...per Zip ""printed too early. Girardi should be there".

DrSutton* 11-10-2011 03:30 PM

This is to pick the starters only. Not the full lineup.

Yeah, Staal on the ballet, without playing a game.

Girardi not on ballot, while playing like a Norris trophy candidate.

Life makes sense.

I bet Jeter and Cal Ripken are also on the ballot

Levitate 11-10-2011 03:36 PM

I think they actually make the ballots before the season even starts. Which is dumb but hey

Inferno 11-10-2011 03:39 PM

gabby should be there hands down. honestly Stepan should be on the ballot too....he's frikkin on fire right now.

BroadwayBlues 11-10-2011 03:54 PM

Ranger fans need to really vote for the likes of Stepan and Girardi.

Those guys don't get talked about around the league. I don't know how many hockey shows I watch and listen to, and you would think they weren't on the team.

Gaborik, Richards, Lundqvist and Staal (even though he hasn't played) have the star power. That's why they're on the ballot.

vipernsx 11-10-2011 04:34 PM

McDonagh!!!

nafsregnar27 11-10-2011 04:37 PM

How the hell can they forget Girardi!? He is playing better than half the defensemen candidates, remove Staal and add him instead.

Kane One 11-10-2011 05:00 PM

Well hopefully the NHLPA adds Girardi to the ASG after the fan voting is complete.

Fitzy 11-10-2011 05:03 PM

Every single time the ASG ballot comes out people have an issue with it.

Its highly unofficial. Basically a collection of household names. It doesnt matter anyways as the Pens and Habs fans will continue to vote again and again on mediocre players like Komisarek.

BlueshirtBlitz 11-10-2011 05:07 PM

Just be happy our ASG doesn't have any other implications like the MLB. I'm fine with whatever stupid stuff they decide to that.

Exactly. This year I'll try to do the same thing and I'll also vote for BizNasty a million times just to show that fan voting is stupid.

Lion Hound 11-10-2011 05:14 PM

Stepan!

Wraparounds 11-10-2011 05:22 PM

Vote for BizNasty. ASG is stupid.

outlaw52 11-10-2011 05:27 PM

Mcdonagh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So because of a three-game scoring streak, Stepan should be on the ballot?

Aaron Voros was on a four-game point scoring streak for us in the beginning of the 2008-09 season. He had 5 goals in the first 8 games. Should Voros have been on the ballot?

Swagelin 11-10-2011 05:35 PM

As long as nobody gets hurt I really don't care who's on it. But it would be pretty cool if all Ranger fans voted for some scrub like Brian Boyle and he made it.

Stepan Glass 11-10-2011 05:35 PM

Anisimov-Stepan-Gaborik

ASG line

hidden message, perhaps? :sarcasm:

Krampus 11-10-2011 05:48 PM

This is ********. The people that are gonna vote are ********. Can't wait to see a team of Pittsburgh and Montreal again :shakehead

DrSutton* 11-10-2011 06:13 PM

as others have speculated, the starters are mostly going to be city specific. Spezza, Karlsson are locks.

stasiewich 11-10-2011 06:17 PM

Would love to see Cally make the team one of these years

not at all. its actually because of his last 10 games. his last 10 games he's been a revelation. its not just the points hes scored as of late, the entire last 10 games he's been outplaying Richards in terms of just overall play. oh and in that span he has 10 pts too.

In the last 10 games he's goalless in 7, and besides this four-game point streak, he's 1-2-3 in 6 GP as a -1. That's all-star caliber? No. He's on a streak right now. A good one. Doesn't mean he's an all-star.

KingWantsCup 11-11-2011 12:26 PM

I too am completely outraged at girardi not being on the ballot. He is leading our club in minutes! He's been a total rock and a huge reason why we're doing so well. I love Staal but I think even he would agree that he has no right whatsoever to even be on the ballot without even playing a game!

gotmonte 11-11-2011 12:40 PM

The voting system NEEDS AN OVERHAUL. Seriously.

Does bettman even see this as an issue. Staal? Really? Come on. That in itself shows how lame the All-Star game has become.

:(
