Dustin Penner out with hand injury

According to Jim Fox's twitter, Penner will be out with a hand injury.

Hammond has also provided an update on Penner.

[UPDATE: Penner's absence is being attributed to a hand injury. Penner had an ice bag on his hand in the locker room after practice yesterday. Murray said Penner's status is "more than day-to-day.]
Apparently the hand injury occurred when Penner took a high shot when he was standing in front of the Vancouver net on a PP.

Chazz Reinhold 11-12-2011 02:14 PM

Must be a broken bone in the hand then.

Will Lombardi surprise us and actually call up Loktionov? Probably not considering he and Murray are so adverse to playing Loktionov on wing, but they need some type of offensive player to step into that role, and Richardson is not the answer.

The Black1963 11-12-2011 02:17 PM

Wow, another setback for Penner. Darn shame.

Ok, Lokti as our 2LW may be what this team needs.

Ziggy Stardust 11-12-2011 02:19 PM

In somewhat Kings related news, former King Lubomir Visnovsky will also be out for a long duration of time due to a broken finger. He's going to miss four weeks of action.

Sydor25 11-12-2011 02:21 PM

Call up King!

:sarcasm:

Too late to call up Lotkionov for tonight, but it would be an interesting call up, move Richards to the wing, and put Lotkionov there,

Of course, I would laugh my ass off if they didn't score 5 goals a game while he was up as some of you think he is the key.

That should be something not even joked about. If DL called him up I'd freak out.

Why would you move Richards and not just insert Lokti as the LW?

Because he was completely ineffective as LW last year I believe.

I believe that was 2 yrs ago. Besides, the Lokti we saw in the preseason is definitely not the same player from 2 yrs ago. I think he would fit in nicely on Richards' line.

Bad Will Hunting 11-12-2011 02:59 PM

Bring up Flynn!

Roxo 11-12-2011 03:51 PM

bummer for pens. first he has an assist taken away, now a bruised hand. He just can't catch a break this season.

KingLB 11-12-2011 04:13 PM

I thought we traded for Penner not Hemsky....

Maybe we should trade Penner for Hemsky?

Mxpunk 11-12-2011 04:20 PM

I will probably take heat for this but Hagman is on re-entry waivers for $1.5 million cap hit. With Parse and Penner out, and Lokti already being touted as strictly a center by Murray, I wouldnt mind taking a chance on Hagman. He has some serious sniping skills that we are missing on our 2nd line. He could mesh with Richards or allow Gagne to reunite with Richie while Hagman plays with Kopi. Just a thought.

Ziggy Stardust 11-12-2011 04:26 PM

The problem is cap space. The Kings have $1,685,309 available. Claiming Hagman would be a cap hit of $1.5M. Once everyone on the roster is healthy, they will have to get rid of somebody. I entertained the thought but not sure if it's the right idea. Guess we should see how Richardson does tonight playing with Richards and Brown.

Stupid Sexy Flanders 11-12-2011 04:35 PM

I could see Richardson doing really well here.

KingsFan24* 11-12-2011 04:38 PM

Lets call up Marc-andre Cliche!

Richie's already had a game or two with Richards and Brown and didn't fare well but I think he can be a good player if given more time. If not, I'm all for Lokti to get the call.

call up Moller..............................:naughty:

oh ya, he did what with his career?

More than day to day, means 1-2 weeks?
