Which NHL player(s) do you play like

Which NHL'ers do you compare in Style of play and Skillset. I'm a mixture of Datsyuk (dangling) and Gaborik (speed) but I am soft as Matt Gilroy

Royal Canuck 11-13-2011 12:11 AM

I've been compared to Burrows and Foligno, more the speed of Foligno and the two way play of Burrows.

wahsnairb 11-13-2011 12:36 AM

a very poor man's kesler, i suppose. i am the definition of a two-way forward. i still put up the points, but the best part of my game is back checking, blocking shots, and takeaways.

thedonger 11-13-2011 01:33 AM

trevor gillies...without the toughness and fighting...

Wilch 11-13-2011 01:40 AM

Bruce Boudreau.

Crosby after concussion

superhakan 11-13-2011 02:41 AM

Maybe Eric Nystrom. I have the shot (sometimes), I have the skating (sometimes), and I have the hands (sometimes), but I always have the grit.

Maccas 11-13-2011 04:52 AM

Maxim Lapierre, every now and again I will pull off a move which is well beyond my skillset and leave everyone wondering what the hell just happened. That and I am very good at drawing penalties :)

bp spec 11-13-2011 06:38 AM

Mike Richards, solid two-way play, come up with some big hits now and then. Play both pk and pp.

I'm maybe a little better defensively than offensively unlike Richie who is good at both, and I'm a good face-off man.

noobman 11-13-2011 08:48 AM

People have told me that I'm like Jeff O'Neill. I prefer to play the wing and I use my size to drive the net.

gifted88 11-13-2011 08:54 AM

a cross between Hal Gill and Mike Ricci, big and slow but a great net presence and decent playmaking skills.

matCH penalty 11-13-2011 09:13 AM

Brett Lebda.

Axman 11-13-2011 10:34 AM

Matt Cooke

WithOutPaperss 11-13-2011 10:49 AM

Brad Marchand

KingsFan24* 11-13-2011 11:23 AM

David Backes. Love to hit people and get into fights. I can play on both sides of the ice very well.

Kulluminati 11-13-2011 01:52 PM

Umm probably a Kessel, like to use my speed and love to shoot and have some decent dangles. On the other hand I can make some good plays too and when I feel like its not my day (missing the net or goalie robbing me), and will pass when I feel like I have a poor chance of scoring or shoot to make a rebound. Oh and I hate back checking haha, but am pretty solid defensively.

Jolli 11-13-2011 02:28 PM

Jason Blake / Andrew Cogliano

datsyukianLIKE 11-13-2011 02:56 PM

Everyone calls me Homer for holmstrom i love to play in homers office and i get beat up down there and i love to make plays deeps in the O-zone

Subnordi 11-13-2011 03:41 PM

Dominik Hasek, one of the taller bantam goalies, with no style but doing everything to keep the puck out of the net.

Thepandamancan 11-13-2011 03:49 PM

On a good day, some sort of Thomas/Quick/Lundqvist mix. On a bad day, Luongo.

ComradeChris 11-13-2011 04:25 PM

I'm 6'5 and 220 lbs, but have played in a variety of leagues. On forward I have had comparisons to Todd Bertuzzi and Eric Lindros. On defense I get a lot of Nick Lidstrom and Zdeno Chara.

I try to play a very deceiving game filled with fakes and mental tricks to throw off my opponents coverage or create turnovers. I.E. faking a pinch and then collecting the puck at center off the boards after the forward chips it to quickstart a regroup or use my peripherals for passing... kind of like see where everyone is on the ice, look one way, but pass another. Or the good old fake pass magic wand. That's a good one too.

romdj 11-13-2011 04:30 PM

People say that I look like Malkin, and I kind of inspire my game from him, but the person I wish to aspire more to is Tomas Plekanec. A player that via being a playmaker, makes teammates better.

Rubber Biscuit 11-13-2011 05:01 PM

Blake Wheeler

AceOfBlades 11-13-2011 05:19 PM

Colton Orr and Phil Kessel. Colton Orrs toughness with Kessels scoring and flexible sticks.

mbowman 11-13-2011 05:37 PM

playing house league when I was younger I thought of myself as kaberle... good vision and passing, bad shot, but better defensive play and weaker skating.

when I played last year in my university intramural league though, I was closer to a lebda. Not much good at anything. Ended up moving to forward halfway through the season, were at the very least I wasnt such a liability. scored a goal too!
