Enroth gets plowed... No reaction

Yeah it was overtime but c'mon! After everything that just happened!?!

Thoughts???

Beerz 11-14-2011 09:18 PM

The Cole incident is the definition of incidental contact.

Enroth played it well.

The 2 situations don't even compare.. IMO.

sabresfan129103 11-14-2011 09:20 PM

it was OT and if they score on the PP they win the game. Besides the hit wasn't that bad.

Smitzo4221 11-14-2011 09:20 PM

Idk he hit Enroth pretty hard and after Enroth we have Macintyre...

Not really. Enroth sold it.

Zip15 11-14-2011 09:22 PM

I don't think he meant to do it. And Jhonas definitely embellished it a bit.

Kc232 11-14-2011 09:22 PM

This one definitely wasn't that bad. Especially when it's in overtime where the 4-3 is almost a guaranteed goal it seems like.

Good play holding back.

BuffaloSabskis 11-14-2011 09:24 PM

LOL I thought this as a joke when it happened. It would have been the dumbest thing ever if they had a reaction to this. I have only seen maybe 2 or 3 overtime fights in my life and after a guy accidentally bumps your goalie and you are about to get a 4 on 3 is not the time to start one.

ImpressedDAHagent 11-14-2011 09:25 PM

and i have also seen j lo in that fiat commercial.

vcv 11-14-2011 09:25 PM

Not that it matters, but Pominville did skate over to Cole and got about as mean as Pominville ever will. Gave him a bump and some nasty words.

But yeah, I agree that a response was not necessary.

slip 11-14-2011 09:25 PM

Battling back from two goals down to win it in a shootout is an appropriate reaction, don't you think?

Buffalo87 11-14-2011 09:28 PM

He didn't hit him as hard as Lucic hit Miller, and that was the definition of incidental contact. Not really comparable.

number72 11-14-2011 09:37 PM

Nope. Time to send a message - it makes Sabres look soft. They have 1 pt.

They have PP in hand and they start something with Cole and you get 2min offsetting penalty or 5 minute major.

Rationalizing it was 2 points - is the same thing for when Lucic ran Miller.

Zip15 11-14-2011 09:40 PM

Jhonas also moved up in his crease as Cole was coming. It was well played by Enroth.

Completely agree.

100% correct.

Enroth drew that penalty. Cole definitely skated into the crease but Enroth saw it coming and moved up, actually "causing" that contact.

IMO, just outside of the crease and Enroth would have got called for interference.

Evgeni Giroux 11-14-2011 10:08 PM

not reaction necessary

Lshap 11-14-2011 10:15 PM

I was at the game and winced when Cole did that. Absolutely terrible timing. As you all noted, it was more a tangle than a hit, but Cole screwed up and deserved the penalty.

minuteater 11-14-2011 10:17 PM

I think that we all saw this thread coming

HockeyTerror 11-14-2011 10:22 PM

It crossed my mind for a split second, but it really wasn't the time nor was there really a reason...

Because Enroth smoothly and purposefully put himself in the way. It was still illegal what Cole did, but it's not like he did so with any intent or malice and certainly not with any sort of oompf. Those types of goalie hits are almost always no big deal.

buffalowing88 11-14-2011 11:16 PM

More power to Enroth for selling that. Might not have elicited a physical reaction but definitely put the team on edge. May have been the difference between us beating that 4 on 3 and us losing. Enroth just has the team's pulse right now and it's showing.

omglolnub 11-14-2011 11:33 PM

anyone got video of the hit? i was working -_-
