NEWS & NOTES

QUOTES TO NOTE

As you've seen it's different people every night, and that's an important thing because if you are relying on one guy or one line every night then eventually that might get dry.
But we've been chipping in throughout the lineup, and that's a good sign. We're at 7 now, and it's a good feeling. So we'll take it on the road to a great building in Montreal and try to make it 8 in a row.
- Brad Richards

I think the key to our success right now is that we’re not looking too far ahead.
If we break the record (the team record is 10 straight wins) great, but our main focus is one thing at a time.
- Steve Eminger

If we’re going to have a chance against Montreal, we’re going to have to play better than we did against the Islanders.
That’s the mindset everybody has. Each day we’re trying to stay consistent and try to work at our game.
- John Tortorella

Going for 8 straight in arguably the most difficult arena to win in. Sure would be sweet to keep the streak alive. Let' do it!

Beacon 11-18-2011 09:03 PM

Won't be able to watch this game tomorrow night, so everyone root extra hard to make up for me.

darko 11-18-2011 09:03 PM

This one will be tough. Hope the boys can pull it off.

Would get us some legitimacy in Canada. Beating the Habs in Montreal while it's broadcasted on Canadian national TV, and with the commentators mentioning that it's now 8 straight, we would suddenly get respect from a whole lot of hockey fans.

McDonagh 11-18-2011 09:07 PM

I hate when we play in Montreal. Let's make them boo their own players, that will satisfy me.

Has McDonagh ever played in Montreal? I know he has played the Habs like 3 times, at least, but I remember them all being in New York.

Loffen 11-18-2011 09:10 PM

The Bell Center is our kryptonite just like Mellon Arena was. We can't seem to win in that freakin' barn. But the Habs are banged up though, so maybe the story will be different this time around.

Twice last season. Jan 15 and Feb 5.

NYRangers16 11-18-2011 09:12 PM

This is a tough matchup...their speed always seems to burn us. Hoping for the best though LGR!

Well, I was only off a little bit on that one

Net Front Presence 11-18-2011 09:16 PM

Hopefully we don't end up on the PK 6+ times in this one.

BroadwayBlues 11-18-2011 09:18 PM

I think this is a lost.

They're bound to lose a game.
They're in a building that they don't play well in.

McMonster 11-18-2011 09:23 PM

If we win this, I'll be a believer. The Rangers almost always suck in Montreal.

Muh 11-18-2011 09:25 PM

Gonna be a tough game, but we playing with emotion.

Montreal D still depleted?

4-2 Win.
Gaborik, Callahan, Boyle, Girardi

BlueshirtBlitz 11-18-2011 09:25 PM

We're not losing to Scott Gomez.

3-2 W. Gabby, Dubi and Fedotenko.

LGR!!

darko 11-18-2011 09:43 PM

That's 47 games now since Gomez's last goal. That also happened to be against Rangers.

March 17 was last time we won in Montreal. That was in the shootout (Nasluns, Antropov and Drury scored).

Hanke 11-18-2011 09:50 PM

Got a bad feeling about tmro, prove me wrong.

Get 8!

Swedish Fish 11-18-2011 09:51 PM

No matter what happens, I love the team we have right now. LGR can't wait till Staal gets back

surf 11-18-2011 10:05 PM

F the Bell Center.
Hank gets second shut out.
3-0 Rangers

Steps
Prust
Richards

DoTheBlue 11-18-2011 10:06 PM

I'm keepin' the faith that they get the eighth! LGR!

KingWantsCup 11-18-2011 10:06 PM

To be honest I'm not feeling too good about this one. Like others have said the Rangers have not been great in Montreal, however we didn't have Richards before. Richards is an absolute game changer. LGR make it 8 in a row!

FromTheSide 11-18-2011 10:21 PM

They have a AHL Caliber defense and a cocky young goalie, can we light them up please?

Megustaelhockey 11-18-2011 10:21 PM

It's amazing - when I was in college and the Rangers couldn't beat anyone else (literally) they had no problem winning in Montreal. Now... not so much.

Still, don't forget the Disaster on De La Gauchetière from a few years ago. NO LEAD IS SAFE.
