They are going to make an example out of him.

I say 4 to 6.

sansabri 11-26-2011 08:49 PM

why for. he's not a recidivist :sarcasm:.

Miller Time 11-26-2011 08:50 PM

?

Shouldn't be anything.

- doesn't leave his feet
- keeps his arm tight against his body

yes, his body connects with Letangs face/head, but that's more a result of Letang leading with his face then it is MP targeting his head.

If Shannahan stays consistent, then it shouldn't be anything... MP clearly didn't target the head and delivered a clean check, no way for him to adjust at the last second b/c Letang went face first.

countdown to thread on main board by Bruins fan about the hit and how MP should get suspended & a criminal case openend... 10..9...8...

Make an example of the player they let down by letting Chara off scot free? I highly doubt that.

Lars The GOAT Eller 11-26-2011 08:55 PM

none, no penalty, Letang's head is down, Letang is looking at Pacioretty..

The Kremelin Wall* 11-26-2011 08:55 PM

None. If Malone didn't get suspended for the ten times worse hit on Campoli, I'm not sure how this can even be a fine.

Mats NAslund 11-26-2011 08:56 PM

NONE ---- There was nothing to suspend!

llamateizer 11-26-2011 08:56 PM

Habs already been suspended

Miller Time 11-26-2011 08:57 PM

anyone catch that?

Letang gets back on the ice for first time after hit... MP is on, as he skates by him he says something (clearly an apology), Letang seems to clearly indicate by his body language and head nod that he isn't pissed about the hit.

I'm no lip reader, but there was CLEARLY no anger in Letang's demeanor... if HE felt it was a dirty or cheap play, he wouldn't have been so gracious literally 5 minutes after the hit.

i think this one is clearly a non-issue... interesting to see what Shanny does (if it even gets reviewed).

McSorleyStick 11-26-2011 08:57 PM

Five

zx81 11-26-2011 08:57 PM

I say none too but it's almost a lottery now so you never know.

OneSharpMarble 11-26-2011 08:57 PM

He isn't a bruin so probably 10

Maliki2 11-26-2011 08:57 PM

None. But its the Habs...Shanny will suspend him. Such a bush league, Shanny has no clue what to do these days. His decisions are confusing for everyone.

Et le But 11-26-2011 08:57 PM

...if he gets traded to the Bruins before the hearing.

Andros777 11-26-2011 08:58 PM

How about none.

Poulet Kostopoulos 11-26-2011 08:58 PM

Five. This is the NHL. Expect non-sense.

I think Patches should have texted him. You know Chara did, he was serious about not wanting to hurt him. :shakehead

Crimson Skorpion 11-26-2011 08:58 PM

Zero.

Pacioretty committed to the hit like Malone did on Campoli. Letang put himself into position, lowering his head at the last moments before contact much like Shanahan said Campoli did.

You can compare these two quite easily, the outcome should be the same.

1 09Cup* 11-26-2011 08:58 PM

If it was Matt Cooke it would be a lifetime suspension.

He gets two games if the ruling is consistent with previous Shanahan decisions.

Stradale 11-26-2011 08:58 PM

Zero... if Shanny is consistent.

No blindside, no charging, no elbow.

Not ALL headshots are suspendable and IMO this was one of them. Letang was leaning after taking the shot and MacPac was already committed to hit Letang. No time for MaxPac to change direction or do anything else.

Woland 11-26-2011 08:59 PM

If he gets a game. I want the stolen point back tonight

Analyzer 11-26-2011 09:00 PM

None. Elbow was tucked in, no charge, player had the puck.

Blindside has nothing to do with a hit now...

shamrun 11-26-2011 09:00 PM

I want to know how many games to thé refs for that blunder

MaritimeHockeyNut 11-26-2011 09:01 PM

5-10 for sure. Probably the worst hit to the head this year...
