Ducks Fire Carlyle After Win and he is quickly replaced.....

By Bruce Boudreau.

Ok PG you just sit back and watch the Habs get knocked out if the playoffs because the players have given up on JM.

I want Carlyle so bad in Montreal.

Sadly this

It will stay like this for the rest of time

Funny thing is, those people Habs's management is trying to please by having bilingual GMs/Coaches probably don't even watch post game interviews or press conferences

They're going to bash the coach regardless. I don't see the point.

Exactly, they're just riled up by ****ing tools like Rejaune or Michel Bergeron, what the hell if they don't speak french, hire a damn translator !

Kriss E 12-01-2011 08:18 AM

No interest in Carlyle. Seems like people just jump on any coach.

To me, if the point is to change philosophies, you lure in Roy, otherwise I'm not interested.

Me too. He would be a total change in philosophy in Montreal. Although I wonder if Gauthieer would give him the kind of players he likes. He always seemed to have tough physical teams which is the kind of hockey I want to see the Habs play.

Of course this can't happen right? He, as far as I know, is missing the one characteristic that makes a hockey coach great.

I guess R Carlyle slipped under your radar huh ?

Until being fired he had a record of 273 wins and 182 losses over a 6 year span with the Ducks.

He made the playoffs 5 out of 6 years and he has won one more cup than JM.

A combination of P McGuire as GM and Carlyle as coach ! One could only dream of how competitive and rugged this team would be !

PG shouldn't be allowed to do anything right now, he deserves to be fired more than Martin

Don't get me wrong he isn't a bad coach but we are far from having the talent they have( Getzlaf, Perry, Ryan)

Pretty good record. Maybe not in the playoffs, but regular season.

What apologist, its called a fact.

team went to the ECF in his first year, finished 6th and got taken out in 7 games from the cup Champs despite massive injuries.

This year has been mediocore so far, but give me a break. This reactionary threads are ridiculous. Its always the coaches fault. Nobody is out there worth hiring right now. Stop with Randy Carlyle. Will he make Markov come back sooner? Will he grab Cammaleri`s stick and hit the net for him? Will he make Gomez`s contract disappear? Will he make Subban get a point shot through? Will be make Gionta, Gill, Spacek young? Will he make Eller finish plays? Will he make Darche non-useless?

If he can do all this then please hire him now.

I hate how ppl rag on the coach everytime the team isnt performing. You have a 6 million dollar player who couldnt hit the side of a barn right now and our 2nd center played in the ECHL 2 year ago. But hey lets fire MARTIN!!

Just like some players become grossly overrated (such as Peter Forsberg), others become grossly underrated (such as Patrick Lalime).

Lalime wasn't elite, but he was good enough to win the Cup for a few of those years. Problem is, the team wasn't scoring. People can blame him for losses all they want, but what difference does it make if you lose a game 3-0 or 1-0? The Sens were shut out or kept to one goal all too often. Lalime lost quite a few 1-0 or 2-1 games during the playoffs for the Sens.

To blame the series losses on Lalime is like blaming Luongo for the loss in the Stanley Cup Finals. The Canucks scored, what, 8 goals in 7 games?

Lalime did sometimes play very poorly and cost his team some games, but his teammates cost the team many more games than Lalime did.

Yes, HEY LETS FIRE MARTIN ! Get this boring mother****er of a coach so far away from this team as possible, and at the same time take Handy Andy PG along with him.

neofury* 12-01-2011 09:37 AM

I can't believe some people actually want Roy over guys like Carlyle and other proven NHL coaches. Some folks really overvalue the job he's done in juniors. Plus he's never even coached at the AHL level before. Making him our coach would be a disaster and turn our team into a 3 ring circus. Making him GM would be probably the darkest day in habs history.

The guy is a hot head and isn't suited for this market. People need to just accept it. And I'm positive if they were ever stupid enough to hire him it wouldn't end well. How people can actually support us acquiring him as our coach I'll never understand, but then in the same breath the same folks usually bash Martin who is a proven coach. Maybe he has lost the locker room at this point and a change up might be worthwhile however Roy is the last person to look to in order to do that. I don't want this team to fail or be ruined so I would never wish Roy becomes coach, but some part of me wants to see it happen to see the end result. I won't deny that it's intriguing I just don't see it ever working out.

Can you imagine the first time he and one of our good players have it out? Say if he and Plekanec didn't get along? I don't want some hot headed idiot ruining our team by being a hot headed idiot. Roy is one and always will be. Winning the cup with us as a goalie does not make you a good coach/GM.
