It’s great for Quickie, but we’ve got to give him more help. A lot of their chances came on the power play. They’re a top-10 power play in the league, and they moved it around. We found a way to kill it off with some big bodies and some big saves. Quickie, he’s been doing that ever since he’s been here.
It’s just good that we’ve improved penalty kill of late and we’re killing off penalties now. We’ve had a good penalty kill for about the last year or so. We went on a little bit of a stretch there where we gave up power-play goals. For us, it’s just about working, and working smart, and a lot of sacrifice. If you look at the power plays, the chances we’ve given up, they’ve had some gaping nets and our guys have gone down and put their bodies on the line. That’s what you need on the PK."

It’s something, as a team, we’re not used to and we know we’re better than that. It’s been something we’ve been making a big push on. The whole team is just a, `Way to go out there for the PK’ mentality, and it’s been great. And yeah, the guys stepped up huge here (after Willie Mitchell’s injury). That’s a big hole on the blue line that we lost for majority of the game. Guys played big minutes and they played them well. It was a huge effort on the back end from these guys and we got two points out of it because of that."

(On My goal) … It was kind of a lucky goal, but we’ll take it. I think it’s about time we got a lucky bounce. We’ve had a lot of trouble scoring and it seems like we haven’t gotten any lucky breaks, so hopefully we get a few more pretty soon here.
(On game nastiness) … I didn’t think it was an overly physical game. More scrums between whistles, but the game itself, I didn’t think it was overly physical. We got a couple guys banged up with just fluke things, but I didn’t think the game was overly physical at all. Now when we play them again in February though … they better keep their heads up, and that‘s all I‘m going to say about that."

It’s just another game, and I’ve just got to focus on details and not really focus on the big picture, being in Montreal in front of my family. I’ve just got to make that a positive. Obviously, I've been watching the Montreal Canadiens for a long time. When I was really young, I was hoping to play for them. When you're young, you try to see yourself out there. I was hoping to get drafted by Montreal when I was young, but now it's going to be a great feeling.
Except when I played them last year … boy anyone remember that ? Boy did I le‘ poo poo stink up le‘ place, but that‘s OK I‘ll play better for them once I‘m traded to them for Cammalleri."

You’ve got to have good goaltending, and he was (good). It shortens the bench. It takes a lot of guys out of the game. Tough to get a flow going. That’s the way the game is, and the penalty killers did a big job, especially when you lose Willie Mitchell on the back end. He’s a very good penalty killer. He plays one shift only, and as the game goes along, Mike Richards is gone. He’s a pretty good penalty killer. So it put a little bit of pressure on some guys, but everybody stepped it up and got the job done.
(On Kings’ physical play) … There was a little bit both ways. They battled, they competed. They used a lot of speed and a lot of their quickness. They took pucks to the net real hard. One player took Quick right into the net on the one play. So they were doing the same thing. They played hard, and it ended up being a good win for us. A great goal, actually, to win the game."

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

Montreal lost to both San Jose and Anaheim. That means the Kings will lose.

Telos 12-02-2011 10:33 PM

Don't know what to think about the Clifford demotion, Westgarth promotion, and Lewis continual banishment, but we need a strong game and try and gain some confidence after losing two major players from the roster... GO KINGS!

HYORI 1963 12-02-2011 11:55 PM

Questionable lineup AND a day game...feeling meh.

Hope they play hard, win it for Richards and Mitchell.

BehindEnemyLines 12-03-2011 12:09 AM

hahah that Bernier picture is epic! Glad to see JB getting a start. Gotta give Quick a rest.

Sydor25 12-03-2011 12:12 AM

Two bad offenses going against each other, so expect a 5-4 final.

KingPuckChoo 12-03-2011 12:30 AM

LA's worst record is vs MTL

MTL's best record is vs LA

and w/ Bernier being shaky and now Mitchell & Richards out

forget it

4-1 Mtl

Well taking everything into consideration and looking at the odds stacked against us.....

Go Kings!

Never forget '93! Go Kings!

Hatter 12-03-2011 03:31 AM

A win is not in the cards for us here. The heavens are stacked against us. I'm putting my money on Montreal. Doesn't matter to me I'll be sleeping through the game anyway. :)

ru4reals 12-03-2011 03:46 AM

Afternoon game says it all! Not even gonna predict, but we all know how well we play on day games! Expect another sluggish, frustrating no energy effort. And against the team we historically suck playing against. Day game plus the Canadiens yes we lose!

Albi 12-03-2011 03:53 AM

The "Be Better Bernier" pic is garbage.
I'd suggest to remove it.

ScoreZeGoals 12-03-2011 08:27 AM

*Hunter goes from first line duty to scratched after having his play praised by Murray (not that I'm complaining, just pointing out the ridiculousness)

*Brown has one of his best games of the season on LW and he gets moved back to RW

*After numerous scoring chances generated by the Gagne-Lokti-Williams line, Stoll (who has done nothing for almost a year now) takes Lokti's spot

*Finally, Westy has played very well with Fraser, so Murray goes ahead and moves him to a line with Lokti.

Sometimes I'm really at a loss for words when it comes to this organization

Only if you've spent significant time in the penal system.

etherialone 12-03-2011 10:57 AM

Are you aware of the penal codes of this state?

I am looking forward to this game more so then the last few times we have played the Habs,

It will be interesting to see Davis in the lineup and while I hate the idea of watching us play without Rick, I do look forward to seeing how our top 6 depth is when he is out of the line up.

I guess it is time for our highly touted depth to step up and get it done.

Let go out there and show them why we are here
Let's go get em boys!
