Mike Sauer out with concussion (1/18: Still "month-to-month")
Are we going to be hearing any updates on Sauer any time soon (like within the next few months:shakehead) or will this be another MSG hush hush job?
Btw- With Stralman in his place not only are we worse defensively but we are MUCH softer. |
There is no practice today, so there probably won't be an update on his condition until tonight or tomorrow.
|
Hockey gets the back burner again. Could you imagine if this was baseball or football? The reporters would be making calls with everyone to get an injury update. No practice today means the beat writers have the day off.
|
The Rangers are not practicing today. No update today. Tomorrow.
Who would the reporters in the NFL and MLB be calling? Unless the team or player/agent leaks info to the media, the reporters in the NFL and MLB won't know the injury status of the player. |
Read a tweet earlier saying what RB said. Update coming tomorrow.
|
I would be utterly shocked if he didn't get a concussion. He got so messed up so badly on that play. Is it me or does anyone else feel their hatred of the Leafs growing more? They have been such a pain for us this season.
|
I would be suprised if he did not suffer a concussion. He got a shoulder to the chin with enough force to dislodge his helmet and make it fly about 6 feet in the air, and then he hit his head on the dasher boards on the way down. He got absolutely demolished

The Rangers didn't call up a D today. Sauer was walking around the Rangers weight room at the Garden last night. |

Wearing the helmet like a frigging frisbee is so stupid. Use the strap to its function dammit. I'm not saying Sauer would've automatically been healthier if he had the helmet on, but it sure enough isn't helping flying 6 foot off the ice.
Sauer displayed perfectly it's not only the impact that is the killer, the actual landing can be more dangerous, especially without a helmet. |
But it's TOUGH to wear the chin strap loose!
|
a couple of seasons ago the Flames took runs at the rangers most notably taking Drury out with a nasty hit.
However payback is a b&*%# because Staal absolutely destroyed Matt Stajan the next season followed by this Ottawa has also had some very nasty questionable hits on NY players. I am fairly sure the Leafs and the Sens will get payback its just a question of time. |

If that hit takes place in the middle of the second, I wouldn't be surprised if he returns to the game. Time will tell, but I think he's ok. He looked like he got stung, not concussed. You get hit in the chest like that and everything hurts for a while. |
is this hit on the internet at all? i was listening on the radio and didn't get to see it

Read lips. MDZ told Jim Ramsey his "lower back" was sore when MSG showed MDZ on the bench and Ramsey talking to him. He said he was fine after the game.
Sauer suffered 2 concussions while he was in junior. He suffered one during the summer of 2006 at the US WJC camp. He had another one right after that one. Saw a skull readjustment specialist in Texas. No problems since then. |
