Linas Kleiza 1-2 months away from playing so three spot clear need according to Colangelo. Also wants third PG and a C

"+ 2 high picks coming over" is very telling. Even BC knows we'll suck this year and get a high pick.

DirtyDion03 12-07-2011 03:34 PM

He's saying well have Jonas, then depending on how the team does (bad) we'll have a decent pick. Hopefully we pick some one like Rivers or a PG and let Calderon go, somewhere, far..

Hopefully he continues to build this team with just a bunch of young talent. Because the East is going to get tougher and tougher with these 3 player teams. (BOS, NY, MIA, etc)

Hanta Yo 12-07-2011 03:38 PM

Meh, Boston won't be a threat for long. Miami is still the top team, but New York adding Paul would make it very interesting. Chicago should be fighting for the top as well.

Boston still has a lot of talent on their team. Give them one bad season and they are still in good shape, IMO. Chris Paul is connected to LA with Howard & Paul. Could be an interesting few weeks.

Most don't consider him a lottery pick for this upcoming draft, and I'm one of them.

He's a shooting-guard in a point-guards body. Do not want.

Hemskyfanboy83 12-07-2011 05:07 PM

Our need right now is simply a clutch ball-handler.

We already have a good slasher (Derozan) and we should have a good low-post scorer (Valanciuas).

We need a guy that can dominate the ball. It doesn't really matter if it is a point guard or a small forward. Either will do. To bad Chris Paul wouldn't come here. He would be perfect.

if that diva cp3 goes to nyk then I'll say they're the favourites even with a gutted team around them

imo the sum of the parts of nyk's big 3 would be better than mia's

Hemskyfanboy83 12-07-2011 05:17 PM

The Knicks should go get Steve Nash. Now that would be a fun team to watch with him D'Antoni and Amare back together.

SuperSaiyanBeastmode 12-07-2011 07:08 PM

let us go for some richard jefferson. He was amnesty'd. Would be OK with johnson and jefferson rotating as our starting SF.

Nazem Bozak 12-07-2011 08:54 PM

all i want from this season is Harrison Barnes

Why would a team in the Raps position want anything to do with Richard Jefferson?

You sure?

Gasol + for Howard

Bynum + for Paul

Both get it done.

Jaysfanatic* 12-07-2011 09:48 PM

Magloire Raps. Welcome home, big fella.

Dr.Funk 12-07-2011 09:57 PM

The Toronto Raptors have agreed to terms with veteran centre Jamaal Magloire.

I wanted a veteran presence behind Andrea but Magloire can't even guard his shadow anymore.

have you read how this works? we bid on how much we want to pay, and whoever bids the most pays that, and spurs pay the rest. or do you mean the tanking position?

According to a report, the Toronto Raptors have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with Centre Jamaal Magloire.
Yeah umm... I don't know anything about him other than he is a back-up center.

I hope to god we don't go into the season with Bargnani as our starting center again. I can't stand watching that turd trying to playing defense.

Hanta Yo 12-07-2011 10:01 PM

Magloire is not capable of providing solid minutes off the bench. He can't provide much at all. Would have liked a better depth C than him.

Jaysfanatic* 12-07-2011 10:02 PM

There was a time when I was dying he'd play here.

What's next? Sign Vince?

Oh ****, it's Doug E. Doug! :sarcasm:

regarding Magloire. I noted that ESPN's "player card" for him (which is supposed to be updated for this coming season) says the following:
Quote:

Long-armed, slow-footed center who can barely jump. Strong post defender.

Excellent rebounder. Little offensive value, but crashes boards and draws fouls.

Magloire played only 158 minutes, operating as a bit of a poor man's Joel Anthony in that his value at the defensive end was more than offset by his utter uselessness when Miami had the ball. While Magloire can't outjump a Pop-Tart, his size and long arms make him a very good rebounder; last season's prodigious rebound rate of 22.9 not only provided nearly all of his rare points, but gave him a defensive impact because he limited second shots.
As a depth guy or a replacement for Ajinca or the minutes that Alabi played last year, that's not so bad. I would hope that he's not intended as a heavy rotation guy or primary backup.

but hey, at least the team is finally employing a Canadian!

Dark Knight 12-07-2011 10:09 PM

Way to tank. Jamal Magloire is the wrong Canadian that I wanted to play for the Raptors (Steve Nash would have been nice).
