Thinking of Lundqvist...

the lockout is the best thing that could've happened to him. He's going to be facing quality night after night (wait until MoDo comes to town with Forsberg, Naslund and the Sedins). This season should really be a test for Henrik - likely better than any test he would've received in the AHL.

I agree that I think that he will face better competition, however, he will still need time to adjust to the North American game and rinks.

The year before they made the NHL, the Sedins played on the "19" line with a kid named Mattias Weinhandl. The trio tore up the league and if I'm not mistaken, the twins claimed co-MVP awards for the season. Weinhandl is also returning to MoDo -- and with the top line featuring Forsberg, Naslund, and defensive specialist Niklas Sundstrom, MoDo suddenly becomes a force -- a big time force, an NHL contending force. Their #1 line suddenly becomes their third line... that's pretty amazing.

I'd pay to watch that team play.

And Forsberg's father...

will be coaching the team. They are the early favorites. And I wonder what happens in a prolonged lockout where the end result dramatically reduces salaries - do these guys get used to being back home and decide to just not return? Sweden, Czech, Russia, Slovakia, Finland and others couldn't have had it better than an NHL lockout. This is a huge boom for them

Well he did pretty well in the season opener tonight against Link÷pings. 36 saves on 37 shots in a 2-1 Frolunda win

It's going to be very sad...

from her on out...there's so little to say. We can only get tidbets from Internet postings and few people's accounts of what's gone on in games. It's been less than a week (the lockout) and it feels like months already. These guys should lock themselves in a room until it gets done. Obviously both are using leverage that each believes they have, yet both are equally as stupid. I'm going to go nuts... Freakin' football's only on a couple times a week, but those Sunday-Thursday nights are killing me...
