What would you rather see?

Simple vote and why

1. Ruff removed and a new head coach maybe Randy Carlyle?
2. A shake up trade, Ruff is kept
3. Regier removed in favor of a new GM that's less conservative
4. Clean house a New GM comes in and build his team and hires a coach he sees fit

Fire both of them...

How can you rebuild with the same people at the helm who have believed in this core for 5 years.

The Core, Ruff, and Regier are one in the same.

Fire Ruff and Regier, bring in new leadership to shake things up.

this will not happen...

Trades.

Last time the franchise went out and did a number of trades (not just one here and there), they took 2 or 3 years, but they came out of it an elite team (for 2 years anyway, until Quinn's retarted negotiating policy led to Dru/Danny not re-signing).

I agree with all of this(especially the last sentence).

I'd vote for a core shake up, but I fear that Regier will continue to add more soft and small players.

SabresFanNorthPortFL 12-08-2011 12:45 PM

Honestly, Regeir & Ruff have had their shinning moments so I've got to give them at least a solid year under Pegula, so they're kept until the end of the season if this keeps up.

I, as I have preached for a couple years, 2 or 3 of the core needs to go to change the attitude. You can definitely win with a few soft players in the top 9 but you can't win with your top 6 players not having Gerbe's tanacity, and every player in the top 6 is mOre of a 'soft' player and they have been that way for years. Sans Vanek, as he plays the tough spots.

Major shakeup trade.

I'm in favor of getting rid of Ruff and then seeing what Regier wants to do. If he wants to stay, then maybe give him another season or so, but I would imagine that if Ruff leaves, so will Regier.

Yawn. We will probably see a significant trade before the trade deadline. However, when you have an owner who doesn't believe in coaching changes for the sake of change and will give Ruff and Regier a full chance to prove themselves given the history.

WhoIsJimBob 12-08-2011 01:16 PM

I want as much change as possible.

I voted to shake up the core since I don't believe that there is any sort of chance that Regier or Ruff will get removed anytime soon.

Given that Regier was more active in UFA than anytime in his history, I hope that he'll shake things up soon.

But, it won't shock me if he waits to the deadline to make a Boyes-ish move or two.....

:help:

Four, but Ruff should be gone. I wouldn't present it as an option to the new GM that he could keep Ruff.

*looks at title*

Yeah, that one.

joshjull 12-08-2011 01:32 PM

I'm in favor of #2 since its the only option that may happen.

Agreed. If that does happen and the team does not improve, I go with #4 after this season is over.
