I really didn't think Caughlin was going to call a timeout there. If I recall, he doesn't usually try and ice the kicker, but he was probably thinking with everything that happened last week with them that he had to.

He should still be fired though, along with the entire staff.

Nyrvana 12-11-2011 11:20 PM

Our entire defense today, and most game is JPP. He has just started. So excited to watch him become a veteran. Freakish abilities.

Jacobs ran hard today. We have an elite QB and 2 excellent wide receivers. The line seriously needs some help though!!

LOVE beating the cowboys.
LOVE watching Tebow win.
LOVE that the Rangers won.

What a great night.

Jeez, between the Cowboys, Giants and possibly the Eagles if a miracle happened, whoever wins the NFC East is going to get mauled in the playoffs. What a terrible division this year.

If the Giants win the division then I'd take them over Atlanta or Detroit at home in the wild card round. It's the next round when they'll have to face New Orleans or Green Bay that I'm worried about.

New Orleans worries me more than Green Bay, to be honest. That team just seems to have our number.

Did Romo actually say that Austin lost that ball in the lights? Yeah, that was it, Tony...it had nothing to do with you overthrowing him on a gimme play.

*A gimme play that would have essentially guaranteed that you'd win your division

If we win that game, we go into Lambeau.

Damn..it's a shame we dont have Spags anymore. There's no way this team will do anything the playoffs with a ragtag secondary and a JV linebacking crew.

But, who knows.

packers without jennings possibly the rest of the way (torn MCL)

not sure if the giants will beat them with their D, but it definitely makes GB vulnerable.

nyrleetch 12-12-2011 12:25 AM

Great win for the Giants tonight. Congrats guys.

Fitzy 12-12-2011 12:28 AM

I should have known they were going to make us watch them lose the playoffs on the last game of the Reg season. This was just too easy on us Giants fans.

BlueshirtBlitz 12-12-2011 01:39 AM

Fewell and Killdrive need to go.

Eli is elite.

JPP is ridiculous.

nyrleetch 12-12-2011 01:47 AM

If Giants go 2-1 with win over Cowboys are they in?

Edit: Seems like that should be it. So they just need to split vs Jets and Redskins.

Yes, even if Cowboys win their other 2 games Giants would take the division.

WhipNash27 12-12-2011 08:51 AM

Jets game is probably the least important of the three for the Giants, so please lose to us ;).

So long as we beat the Skins, I couldn't care too much so long as nobody gets hurt.

If we lose to the skins, though, watch out.

I wish the Giants would offer stocks like the packers did. Would make a nice centerpiece to the sports room i'm trying to build, between the Signed Manning and Lundqvist jerseys.

The Dark Passenger 12-12-2011 10:26 AM

Great win for the Giants. Anyone still think Eli is an average QB?

I agree the coaching staff still needs to go. On a semi-related note, I think if I see another ******* shotgun draw again I will break my hand on the wall. Talk about vanilla play calling.

PSLs don't count? :sarcasm:

I always thought that conference record was the 3rd tie breaker, but it turns out that it's actually record vs. common opponents.

So if the Giants beat washington and the jets, and dallas loses to philly, the Giants win the division.

However, if the Giants beat washington and the jets, and dallas beats philly (whether or not they beat tampa), it will come down to the winner of the Giants/dallas game in week 17.

Fitzy 12-12-2011 11:18 AM

I didn't know that either. Odd. Philly should be better with Vick but the odds of the Giants winning both those games have to be low.

Well, as long as we win one of them, we control our own destiny. But I'd be very happen if it doesn't come down to the last game of the season. We haven't done well against dallas at home in recent years.

Fitzy 12-12-2011 11:29 AM

True. although as a 7-6 team we haven't exactly earned the right to be picky about our playoff scenario options.

drewcon40 12-12-2011 11:50 AM

I posted earlier this week how the Jets look poised again for another run. I know Kansas City is a weak opponent. Even their injuries mirror last year. The Jets D could overcome Leonard. Jets fans think the Eagles are a gimmie game and I was talking to them about the Giants. They feel their offense will score on the Giants at will and that the Jets D is miles better than Green Bay and Dallas, thus The Giants will not have success against the Jets D. The Jets are really riding the momentum. They shed the "Same Old Jets" monikor and now they appear to be a flagship franchise.

mullichicken25 12-12-2011 01:19 PM

bengals heartbreaking loss to the Texan's puts the Jets in the driverseat for the wildcard

win and they're in

however, i can imagine its going to go down to the last game

bengals have cards, rams, and ravens...if the Jets drop one to either Philly or the Giants its going to get interesting

mti79 12-12-2011 01:57 PM

Looks like there should be some really good meaningful games all the way down the stretch. I'm just happy that my Saints clinched their playoff berth yesterday so I can truly enjoy watching the games. Although, the #2 seed would be sweet...
