Devils vs. Canadiens, 12/17, MSG+, 7pm

New Jersey Devils
(17-13-1, 35 points, 8th in the Conference)
Coming off a 6-3 win against Dallas

Projected Lineup:
Zach Parise-Adam Henrique-Ilya Kovalchuk
Petr Sykora-Patrik Elias-Dainius Zubrus
Eric Boulton-Travis Zajac-David Clarkson
Mattias Tedenby-Ryan Carter-Cam Janssen

Henrik Tallinder-Adam Larsson
Bryce Salvador-Kurtis Foster
Mark Fayne-Anton Volchenkov

Martin Brodeur
Johan Hedberg

Andy Greene

Montreal Canadiens
(13-12-7, 33 points, 11th in the Conference)
Coming off a 4-3 loss to the Flyers

Projected Lineup:

Zach Parise:

Zach Parise appears to be all the way back and the Devils are starting to roll.

With Parise matching his career-high with four points on a goal and three assist, the Devils made Scott Niedermayer Night a winning night with a 6-3 win over the Dallas Stars at Prudential Center.

“Four points are always nice,” Parise said. “It always feels good to be able to contribute and to be able to help the team win. It’s always a good feeling.”
Pete DeBoer on Parise:

“I think his timing is coming back,” said Devils coach Pete DeBoer, whose team has won three in a row and five of six. “He’s getting at the right places as the puck is getting there, which is what he’s good at, where two weeks ago he was there a second early or a second late. I can’t explain it, but I know speaking with him he feels like he’s back where he should be and it couldn’t come at a better time.”
Ilya Kovalchuk:

Kovalchuk believes that this kind of production is what he and Parise are supposed to be doing.

“That’s how it should be,” he said. “He’s too good of a player to not get points in every game.”
Rookie Sensation Adam Henrique:

The highlight of the night – after the Niedermayer ceremony – was Adam Henrique’s shorthanded goal that tied it at 2 3:35 into the second period.

3-0 Montreal road game, just like last year. Please and thank you.

LGD! Good night.

Bleedred 12-16-2011 11:14 PM

Just win! We just beat a couple really good teams, so beat this team! The Habs are a more important win cause they're creeping around us in the standings.

Of all the teams we lost to earlier in the season in our first games against them. Philadelphia, Toronto, Florida, and Dallas we beat them all on the second try. Haven't lost to the same team twice. I expect a better game than last Saturday!

Basement Cat 12-16-2011 11:16 PM

Time for Marty to step up and steal one in Montreal like he always does. Hope the team actually plays for him.

Bleedred 12-16-2011 11:17 PM

Perhaps if not backup Goalie Salvador can help him out like he did for Moose tonight.

AZNDevil 12-16-2011 11:17 PM

A 4-game winning streak would be pretty nice.

glenwo2 12-16-2011 11:18 PM

4-1 Devils win(Marty has the you-know-what going and Chico, as usual, JINXES it in the end....you KNOW that's going to happen).

Here's hoping for more scoring by the Top-line and 2nd-line...

..or maybe Zajac's first goal of the season? :)

....OR HOW ABOUT CAM JANSSEN GETTING HIS FIRST INSTEAD?? Would love to see that, too.

Wingman77 12-17-2011 12:04 AM

Keep us rolling Marty

devsfan4life 12-17-2011 12:06 AM

Let's go Devils!!

Hopefully they aren't too drained after the win vs the stars. I can see this being a game where we struggle to hang on but Marty comes up with huge save after huge save and we come out of it with a sneaky 3-2 win.

MJB Devils23* 12-17-2011 12:10 AM

Moar winzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yo:

Mgd31 12-17-2011 12:16 AM

Continue with the winning

Saugus 12-17-2011 12:22 AM

I want to see Marty in God mode in Montreal, like he always is.

Bleedred 12-17-2011 12:33 AM

When was the last REALLY bad game Marty played in Montreal? Not lost, but just a BAD HORRIBLE game?

Last one I can think of was a few games into 95 when we won our first cup. Roy was still on the Canadiens. It was something ridiculous like 7-1. I figured they would have pulled him.

Saugus 12-17-2011 12:36 AM

I'd like to see the offence break through against the Habs. They're always tight defensively.

If Marty can't do the heavy lifting on his own, the scoring needs to be there.

Bleedred 12-17-2011 12:43 AM

Firepower from all ends needs to strike. Montreal like Toronto is a hard building to win in, but we somehow seem to pull it off a lot. Winnipeg was hard to win in too as we saw.

In 2 of our last 3 games we've scored over 5 goals, and before that we only scored 5 once all season. At least in regulation. That's a pretty big accomplishment.

I'm glad to see Kovy not being given 25 minutes or 30 or something ridiculous. He's not a great TWO way player, and all that time in there leaves him more time for criticism, and complaints from people.

Hey no Gionta either. That's ALWAYS a good thing. They didn't have him last time either though.

MountainGoat 12-17-2011 12:55 AM

I hate playing Montreal, probably the most boring team to watch these past couple of years but its always a treat to watch Marty in god mode

BrodeursCups 12-17-2011 01:05 AM

4 in a row would be a solid streak to take into the rags game..

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 01:29 PM.
