NEWS & NOTES

QUOTES TO NOTE

I don’t know. We have to worry about ourselves first. We weren’t good enough to win that game.
We weren’t good enough to – whatever, ya know. They were the better team.
- Brad Richards

We didn’t have our best game but we were still in it, after the first two goals we battled back, I battled back, and it felt like we definitely had a chance, and then they get that lucky third one.
We didn’t have any puck luck tonight. St.Louis is a good team. They played very solid and made it very tough for us to create big chances.
- Henrik Lundqvist

It was fed to us tonight. We just simply couldn’t win enough battles. It was a game that was going to be played on the walls, and they beat us at that game.
- John Tortorella

Currently pulling an all-nighter for my last final at 8-freaking-am. Then 5 hour drive home. I will be waking up for this game, do not disappoint me, Rangers.

You forgot Korpedo

Ail 12-17-2011 04:58 AM

Time to win again, at least I am not losing any sleep for this one.

Feels like another boring game.

Propane Nightmares 12-17-2011 05:44 AM

Being optimistic and sitting Smith in fantasy, in the hope we will light him up. Of course me doing that means he will get a shutout, but optimism ftw. LGR!

Dorado* 12-17-2011 05:59 AM

DEV , Buffalo , Montreal all creePing up the standings I wouldnt say must win but let's not get stuck on 38 points for a few weeks and get the 2 tOn. I'd like to see Avery in , I mean why not he has three goals they were timely goals and his wheels on the FC could be used . Oh yeah EC is menstruating anyway

beastly115 12-17-2011 07:11 AM

3-2 loss. Wont be wasting my time watching this one.

mrhockey193195 12-17-2011 07:36 AM

Lgr!!!

Ave Maria 12-17-2011 07:38 AM

Im assuming Biron is getting the start, he should of got it last time but w/e

Vitto79 12-17-2011 07:48 AM

the sky is falling!!!!......oh wait they win this one

Punxrocknyc19* 12-17-2011 07:56 AM

Rozsival or Korpikoski score in the shootout to win the game

but seriously i think the Rangers can win this. i would put Biron in net. Hank needs a day off since he was hurt...im gonna say 5-2 Rangers..

goals by Dubinsky Richards Hagelin Girardi and Gaborik

BBKers 12-17-2011 08:26 AM

Would like to see:

Artem Anisimov | Derek Stepan | Marian Gaborik
Carl Hagelin | Brad Richards (A) | Ryan Callahan (C)
Ruslan Fedotenko | Brandon Dubinsky | John Mitchell
Sean Avery | Brian Boyle | Brandon Prust

when Wolski/Rupp return:

Wojtek Wolski | Brad Richards (A) | Marian Gaborik
Brandon Dubinsky | Derek Stepan/Artem Anisimov | Ryan Callahan (C)
Ruslan Fedotenko | Artem Anisimov/Derek Stepan | Carl Hagelin
Sean Avery/Michael Rupp | Brian Boyle | Brandon Prust

alternatively;

Artem Anisimov | Derek Stepan | Marian Gaborik
Wojtek Wolski | Brad Richards (A) | Ryan Callahan (C)
Ruslan Fedotenko | Brandon Dubinsky | Carl Hagelin
Sean Avery/Michael Rupp | Brian Boyle | Brandon Prust

John Mitchell ev 14th man or sent down (which is a bit unfair - logjam)
Christ waived

Or a trade...

fredrikstad 12-17-2011 10:37 AM

How can Erixon be a schratch? Wasn`t he reasigned to the Whale yesterday?

Giglio NYR15 12-17-2011 10:43 AM

Rozi and Korpi score....the mid-December slide continues. Id like to see Rupp and Avery, need a change.

nyrleetch 12-17-2011 11:05 AM

I'd like to see a moneyball moment happen.

Sather tells torts you can't play Christensen because he is traded and now Avery has to play!

Ih8theislanders 12-17-2011 11:11 AM

Really hope Rupp can come back tonight. I'd sit Boyle tonight too. Play Sean.

Jumbo* 12-17-2011 11:13 AM

Can we please win tonight.

Get Boyle the **** out of the lineup please and insert Rupp.

lbrowne 12-17-2011 11:16 AM

We need to get this train back on track tonight. Get the win.

Wish Avery was in.

HatTrick Swayze 12-17-2011 11:18 AM

Yes, sitting Brian Boyle will solve all of our problems.

It will solve at least 1 which is getting rid of a useless player on the ice.

What center can we insert to replace his PK time, defensive play, and physicality? EC?

Cut his minutes, eliminate PP time for sure. But scratching him would do more harm than good.

Boyle's physicality?

Yes...the guy at least finishes his checks and is good for a big hit here and there. He's clearly not elite but to say he lacks any sort of physicality is ridiculous.
