Removing rusted bolts on a helmet

Any tricks to removing rusted bolts from a helmet (outside of WD-40)?

The bolts that attach my cage to the helmet are rusted and yesterday a guy grabbed me buy the cage and one of the clips popped off. I was going to try to get the other one off and replace both. Any tricks?

When it gets that bad, I usually just clip or drill out the screw and replace the female end. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has a technique i'm not familiar with though.

that's pretty much what you're left with as an option. use a drill bit that's slightly bigger that the screw that is there and hopefully you can drill through the head of the screw and separate the head from the rest of the screw. replace the screw and the nut and throw in a little WD-40 to slow the rusting down some.

I had to Dremel the screws off an old helmet. Ended up replacing the helmet and cage. I pay more attention to it now.
