Bad teams find a way to lose [3-2 Red Wings][1 point out of lottery]

3-2 Red Wings. Of course.

Hockey Nightmare 12-19-2011 10:58 PM

Playoffs!

OntOilFan 12-19-2011 10:58 PM

What? A loss?

GreatKeith 12-19-2011 10:58 PM

We played really well in the first 40 minutes but the Wings were too much in the third.

Would it be too much to ask to score on a deflection instead of the other way around?

alphahelix 12-19-2011 10:58 PM

Someone should ask these vets if they are working together to try to get the coach fired.

Hemskyfanboy83 12-19-2011 10:59 PM

Ryan Smyth is deteriorating right before our eyes.

Just 2 brutal decisions on the PP at the end there. He was clearing the zone by himself.

Vomiting Kermit* 12-19-2011 10:59 PM

Hey, just play for overtime guys.

Oilmageddon* 12-19-2011 10:59 PM

Coaching is no different from the Mac Dummy days period.

Nunymare 12-19-2011 10:59 PM

**** **** **** **** **** ****.

Could've easily had this one.

Angelus* 12-19-2011 10:59 PM

Oilers will be the first franchise since the 'diques to pick 1st overall three consecutive years. Pathetic.

Wyrm 12-19-2011 10:59 PM

We are drifting up in the draft, top-6 now.

Muscles Glasses 12-19-2011 10:59 PM

Oh well.

Sun Rises
Sun Sets
Red Wings are a good team
Oilers suck

As is life.

canovin 12-19-2011 10:59 PM

What is everyone whining about? Oilers lost to a very good team in Detroit and they made it very competitive.

Digger12 12-19-2011 10:59 PM

...and this "team" is on a rocket sled down the standings. Whee!

Can't wait for the latest Renney witticism, it's the only time he stands out in a crowd.

OntOilFan 12-19-2011 10:59 PM

Smyth looks like a beer leaguer.

The Ducks and Jackets might have something to say about that.

CupofOil 12-19-2011 11:00 PM

How could a team play so competitively in the first 2 periods then play not to lose when the game is tied then fold like a cheap tent AGAIN when they go down by a goal. Hall was the only one putting in an extra effort in the 3rd, Pathetic.

I would like to see the Oilers score in the last minute of the 3rd to tie a game before i die, is that too much to ask?

Stoneman89 12-19-2011 11:00 PM

Only saw the last 5 minutes of the game, but it was pathetic. What a brutal effort. I fully expected them to lose this game, and also finish bottom 5 , but I don't think it's too much to expect an effort out there. There wasn't one player that broke a sweat. Bag skate em' tomorrow, Renney.:shakehead

stratedge 12-19-2011 11:00 PM

We're 1 point out of the lottery baby!

Fail for Nail!

Oilbleeder 12-19-2011 11:00 PM

Why do we suck in late game situations?

RipsADrive 12-19-2011 11:01 PM

Other teams just seem so much better at getting those tip in goals where the defenceman just seems to throw the puck on net like we just saw Lidstrom do. (Calgary comes to mind)

We only seem to be able to score off the rush and on the powerplay.

YAKUGOD 12-19-2011 11:01 PM

I swear we are the most unlucky team in the world

syz 12-19-2011 11:01 PM

The guys you expect to handle the tough minutes aren't managing to do that anymore like they were in October.

I am so tired of this moral defeat ****.

We ****ing lost. Okay?

****ing lost.

For what feels like the 10th time in a row.

Bryanbryoil 12-19-2011 11:01 PM

Hall looks incredibly dynamic out there, but FFS he needs to learn to use his teammates better.

Hemsky showed up to play tonight, Petry was solid and Gagner returned after appearing to have been hurt. Some positives to take out of this game IMO.
