Flyers GM Paul Holmgren updated the status of some injured Flyers today just as the team took to the morning skate at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan.

Among them was Danny Briere, who is not out on the ice with the team. Holmgren announced that Briere has a bruised hand and is listed as day-to-day.

On the Brayden Schenn front, Holmgren announced that he skated and did his off ice conditioning again today and has made good strides. His status is now day-to-day.

As is Sean Couturier, who also skated today and did his off ice conditioning.

The Flyers take on the Rangers tonight at 7 p.m. on CSN and 94 WIP radio.
Appears to be from a slash in the Dallas game.

Okay. not too bad - wonder if Le Hobbit will play tonight?

Good news on the youngsters - hopefully they progress nicely!

^^ yea, the announcer said he was winching when he went to the bench after that... he also got a stick on the same hand - iirc same shift too.

probably from when he got slashed behind the net and there was no call

RespectTheCouts 12-23-2011 11:41 AM

During the broadcast they showed he got hit with a shot, they showed him on the bench and his ring finger I believe was bleeding like it blew up, and then his next shift I think it was he got slashed and I'm guessing this is said injury, good reporting MSE, good to hear the yougens are making positive progress

Should we read between the lines? "broken finger, wrist etc etc"

Here's a link to his shifts in the Dallas game:

The last shift came midway in the third period.

There's a seven-minute gap early in the second period.

No, just a "virus"

Beef Invictus 12-23-2011 01:27 PM

Looks like very localized ebola. These viruses are getting obnoxious.

He would not be playing against Philadelphia.

Mgkibbles 12-23-2011 05:41 PM

Can't say I blame him, that hand took a beating last game, probably can't even grip his twig right now.

By far, he and Kharlamov were my most favorite players.

what was it 1.63 GAA? If I remember it right. Best penalty that was served by Bobby Clarke. Break a leg, serve 2min win it all.

nice goaltending
