1 goal, 1 fight

Not a bad debut

Capn Brown 09-29-2004 10:32 PM

And he was a +2.

Sybil227 09-29-2004 10:53 PM

Scored the game-winner and was #1 star. Not a bad start.

When Pushkarev got in a fight after his goal in the third, they put Tomanek back on that line. He forechecked/pressured a guy hard and stole the puck to get a great shot on goal at the top of the circle. It did not go in, but he was still playing hard. If this game in any indication, Pushkarev will be playing with Ladd and Getz. Sheesh, took him only one game to get on the top line. The Kings have a nice prospect in Push.

Go PUSH!!!!!!!!!

Man, that's the last time I do a favor for my friend while listening to the game. I missed the entire 2nd and 3rd period!

I'm happy with Pushkarev though. Hopefully he'll make some more noise tomorrow!

Capn Brown 09-30-2004 11:16 AM

Also, the roster thingy had him listed as a LW. If he can play like that on the left side then that balances out our problem of too many at RW.

I work at the Saddledome and was able to catch the game yesterday. Pushkarev was quite impressive in his debut to say the least. He looked very good right and away and he was moved up to the big line with Getzlaf and Ladd early in the second period.

He is very quick, and is able to dart into scoring areas. Good stickhandler, and very creative with the puck. Clever and smart in the offensive zone and he never gives up on a play. That how he got his goal. He was tied up by the defender but was able to put a backhander by the Lethbridge goaltender. Good top end speed, but I would say he's more quick than fast. Quite fiesty for a European. Didn't back down in his fight. He got sucker punched, and immeidiately began throwing punches back. Not overly physical, but he isin't afraid to get his nose dirty either. The crowd gave him a nice ovation. Got the #1 Star of the game, and even did the old Rob Van Dam thumb pointing to his shoulders as he skated off the ice. Looks like you've got a good prospect on your hands.

Calgary Devil, Any chance you can give us regular updates on him?

KingPurpleDinosaur 09-30-2004 02:37 PM

i sure hope this isn't a one game t hing! GO PUSH!!

palffytofrovlov 09-30-2004 03:16 PM

I agree... but this might be the best move the Kings did all year, to bring him to the WHL!!!! :handclap:

Plus that way we get to see and hear about him more!

Reaper45 10-01-2004 07:38 PM

It's too bad Tukonen isn't in the WHL, I think we'd be hearing the same type of rave reviews about him as well....Go Push!

mcarrick16 10-01-2004 09:21 PM

Has 1 goal already after the first period

kingsforever 10-02-2004 02:56 AM

I work at the Saddledome, so I am able to catch most Hitmen games, unless I book the day off. But I plan on working more junior games this year with the NHL season in doubt.

I'll come post on your board every so often to update his progress. Any other Western League prospects you want me to update on, I can do that too, depending on who the Hitmen play.

chuckie 10-02-2004 12:42 PM

looks like he had a goal and an assist, hitmen site shows 2gms--2G 1A 3pts plus 4 and 5 pim,

KingPurpleDinosaur 10-02-2004 01:22 PM

how good is this whl anyways??

is it known for producing good players? anybody konw about the strengths and weakensses of this league

KINGLEWOOD 10-02-2004 03:17 PM

It seems right now the WHL is one of the best junior leagues as far as developing defencemen. Players such as Bouwmester, Phaneuf, Barker, and Seabrook to name a few play or played in the WHL. So I would have to say Push will be seeing some top defensive prospects especially with him playing on the top scoring line.

He is in a great enviornment that will help him adjust to North America, and hopefully the NHL.

Capn Brown 10-04-2004 12:29 PM

So far, Push has 3 goals in three games and is a +5. In two of the three games, he's been the #1 star! NICE!

KingPurpleDinosaur 10-04-2004 12:46 PM

so do the whl produce good forwarsd then? who is someone who came out of the whl?

Cropduster 10-04-2004 01:40 PM

when is this guy suppose to be NHL ready-or is he? :yo:

From everything I heard it was suppose to take atleast 2 or 3 more years.

He added a couple of assists last night....he contiunes to be very impressive. Love the intensity, and his is a magician with the puck. Made a sweet backhand pass for the Hitmen's 3rd goal....

palffytofrovlov 10-07-2004 03:51 PM

If he continues and plays at the level this year would you say he is in the Top 5 of the Kings Prospects? Tukonen, Brown, Grebs, Tambs and then Push?

The forwards of the Kings will be skilled and have that intensity.

Just look at Brown & Frolov...

Kingz4life 10-07-2004 05:09 PM

It really sounds like PUSH is really looking awesome so far, but I was wondering if anyone has noticed anything negative also?
