Geoff Molson/Harold Ballard legacy?

Does anyone know if Geoff Molson's reign so far is how Harold Ballard started off too?

I know Harold Ballard's reign ended bad but did it start off as bad as Geoff Molson.

Considering there has been some hush-hush about sexual aggressions during Ballard's reign and that the Leafs were permanently bad during Ballard's tenure (as opposed to bad for, really, a few months), that thread is premature to say the least.

Not sure if this is serious. Molson just became the owner, and is just starting to hire the people he wants. When buying a team, you can't just hire everyone in 1 day. He slowly replacement Bolvin, who was a good President in the sense of making the team money but didn't care much for the on ice product, he still hasn't picked his choice of GM. So not sure how you can judge him so soon.

Well maybe instead of giving PG a 1 year deadline, and putting unnecessary pressure which ultimately results in panic moves which are hurting this team, he should of just went and replaced PG in the summer time and avoided the panic right now. It's never to early to judge especially when he messed up so early into his 'reign'.

Outside replacing Boivin, what has Molson done?
The poor performance on the ice is not his fault. He allowed PG to spend up to the cap+, so really, this is an evaluation year for him. He will start changing things up if he feels the need after this year imo.

Give me a break. Talk about comparing apples to oranges. Less than a year does not constitute a reign. Molson has inherited the cast and crew he has and has not seen the franchise wither due to his own poor management. Come back in 10-20 years if you want to make the comparison. In the meantime breath through your nose, everything is going to be alright. We still have pyramids to hang under the bench. :sarcasm:

Wouldn't Molson have to screw up first before people start speculating on whether he's comparable to the worst of NHL owners ever? It's been 1 year and he's been president for all of 6 months and he's done nothing warrant this.
Rediculous! Have we run out of deserved people to bash already?!

Ballard's reign according to the biography started with him and a flunky riding a cirscus train that was in the Gardens, and then him meeeting with some "Yonge St. Women". No comparison here.

You simply can't compare the two. Here are some of the highlights of Ballards' reign:

1) He fired a coach and then asked him to go back to work wearing a bag on his head, and remove it once he got back behind the bench in a dramatic fashion
2) He hired a GM who had himself declared brain damaged in court
3) He had pyramid's placed under the players bench to give them more power ie. pyramid power
4) He hired a GM under 30 years old who was completely unqualified

And you want to compare the two? How old are you OP? :shakehead
