How many games would the Shanhammer give for this hit?

Hit by a friend of mine. The other guy was shaken up but did not get injured.

5 for rolling on the ground like a girl. Surprised he didn't bang his feet on the ground.

Royal Canuck 12-30-2011 05:19 PM

8 games. Hit to the head, bit of a charge. Attempt to injure as well.

timekeep 12-30-2011 05:58 PM

no one stuck up for him

Shoulder to shoulder hit, nothing wrong with that (assuming it's a full contact league). Banned for life from real hockey for playing the atrocity that is roller hockey, though :)

shawn1331 12-30-2011 08:44 PM

Wasn't really that big at all so no games, guy had his head down and there was no head contact.

Wease 12-30-2011 08:50 PM

Is there full contact roller hockey?

yeah I was going to comment on this because as far as I know no there isn't, in fact body checking is penalized. It's one of the main differences between inline and ice...anyways that hit seemed dirty to me at the beginning, but in slow-mo it def. seemed shoulder to shoulder

LatvianTwist 12-31-2011 12:52 AM

Hit itself wasn't dirty, but because it's roller hockey, contact is.

It is in this league. We are not playing roller hockey, it's called Skater Hockey and full body contact is allowed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skater_hockey

Dr Van Nostrand 12-31-2011 03:59 AM

"Fair body contact (fair check) is that which is delivered with the side or the front of the body, with the arms down, close to the body and both skates on the pitch surface. A fair check can only be made on an opponent who is in possession of the ball, and can only be made to the front or to the side of that opponent."

Looks like someone was trying to relive his glory days or still sour for getting cut from the high school roller hockey team.

Subnordi 12-31-2011 04:04 PM

hopefully none

opivy 12-31-2011 05:35 PM

Looked like a nice shoulder to shoulder hit at 3 miles per hour where one kid flops like a fish and then realizes he was a sissy and lays there for a few minutes to try and make it better. Completely legal and well executed.

1. Who in the right mind would play full contact hockey on a surface with that much friction and boards that are essentially a wood barrier and a gymnasium wall?

2. Hard to tell from the camera, but I think that was an elbow to the head. At a minimum that's 2 minutes for elbowing. With the NHL's headshot rule that's a definite suspension.

Totally agree with both of these points... :handclap:

I definitely thought it looked like he stuck the elbow out.

goalie29 01-01-2012 10:42 PM

If the guy wasn't injured, why was he flopping around like he had multiple broken somethings?

Anyhoos, if it's a hitting league, that looked fine to me.

Jackson12 01-05-2012 05:34 PM

dude elbowed him in the head like anderson silva.5 games
