Henrik for ASG

I'm really ticked that Lundqvist isn't even considered a leader in all star votes. I mean come on, 1st in the league with some of the best stats. He's been amazing. Yet Fleury who hasn't been so grwat lately is in front of him. Thomas I understand, but come on...

Fitzy 12-30-2011 09:27 PM

I would rather our best player actually not get picked for the All Star game.

Not only is the game itself awful, but it runs the risk of a pointless injury. I hope Christensen is our rep. (Obviously not going to happen but still)

Miller Time NYR 12-30-2011 09:27 PM

nah give it to thomas, the guy that plays 50 games and gets 3 and 4 night breaks all season :shakehead

I see where that's coming from. But I still think that he is really overlooked

No way Thomas faces the quality of shot Hank faces every night

?

They do that by design to keep him rested for playoffs.. and this is why Torts has Henrik starting less games this year. He is modeling it from what the B's and teams that won before them have done.

no i get that, its just a given that thomas' numbers are going to be far better than most (hank) given that hes played less games, on more rest, behind a ridiculously good team.

Stugots 12-30-2011 10:09 PM

I don't know why the "fans" who vote for this game have such a hard on for Fluery. He isn't top 10 in GAA and he isn't even top 20 in SV %.

because the pitt bandwagon is still rolling strong.... its a popularity contest theres clearly alot of pens fans voting.

The simple fact is (in ALL sports) that people in NY have better things to do than stuff an All Star ballot box and people in minor cities don't.

This.

ASGs can be worrisome for some players. I remember Shawn Horcoff and Phillipe Boucher playing in it and they was never the same again. Seems to be the same with Hiller thus far. I'm sure I'm missing some more examples.

Puckface NYR* 12-30-2011 11:52 PM

I purposely don't vote because I don't want to see our players there. Big fat waste of time. Rather have the guys kick there feet up with a margarita in cabo for a few days then play pointless hockey and contests.

Hockey Team 12-31-2011 12:22 AM

I would not vote for hank, because I don't particularly want to see him play in that joke of a game.

Jackpot 12-31-2011 12:33 AM

Just a bunch of Canadian ballot stuffing going on anyway, should just let Ottawa and the Leafs play a game to make all the idiots up there happy. The NHL allstar game has turned into a joke

Giglio NYR15 12-31-2011 12:38 AM

Im all for hank but last i checked gabby was 28th amongst forwards. How do you figure that?

Hockey Team 12-31-2011 02:37 AM

Let's start a HFBoard Send Eric Christensen ballot box stuffing thing.

well, you can vote for 3 forwards, 2 defensemen, and a goalie.

If you're stuffing the ballots might as well stuff 6 players LOL

Puckface NYR* 12-31-2011 03:18 AM

Just voted for EC, Avery and Bickel 30 times

Puckface NYR* 12-31-2011 03:21 AM

Let The Trends Begin

Killem Dafoe 12-31-2011 03:25 AM

lol ill vote EC in the ASG 100 times. let's do it, if Ott and Mon can get a million write in votes, so can we.

Hockey Team 12-31-2011 03:25 AM

Here's my fantasy All star game players:

Christensen - Team A (Because he represent, yo)
Avery - Team A
Kopecky- Team B

MDZ - Team A
Some other defenseman, can't think of anyone

Brodeur - Team B

Avery is told that in order to stay on the rangers he has to instigate at least 2 line brawls in the all star game.

ChrisKreider20 12-31-2011 03:30 AM

Isn't the voting only for 6 players, and the rest are by the GMs?

F-F-F
D-D
G

If so Lundqvist probably still gets in...

broadwayblue 12-31-2011 03:58 AM

when is the team announced?
